  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Halloween, is a time to remember those who have gone ahead, clean up a gravesite, pay some respects to deceased loved ones. A time to spend with family handing out candy and having fun. Just because a bunch of Pagans came up with the idea doesn't mean it's sinful or wrong. It was Pagans who came up with the idea of democracy, I don't see you shuning democracy in favor of some more Biblical form of government. :p

As for Christmas... Those Pagan astrologers you refer to as wise men may have located Jesus around December, however that doesn't change the fact that: Yule logs, Christmas trees, lights, presents, pretty much everything except that little nativity scene some people set up is of 100% Pagan origen. Easter is even named after the Pagan Godess of spring, Ostara. Easter egg hunts, fertile little easter bunnies even the sunrise celebration of this rite of spring is Pagan in origen.

At first I thought Christians running around acting like anything that is/was/has been Pagan has the cooties was sort of funny. Now I think it's just plain sad.
I agree. I hate it when people go on about that sort of thing. One of my biggest pet peeves.

Halloween was never evil and has nothing to do with sacrifice and satan. Halloween comes from the Celts. They believed that on this day that the veil between the living and the dead was at its thinnest and that the living could talk to their dead family. On this day they held ceremonies to honor their dead family and friends and would leave food for them, not dead humans or animals. Wiccans fallow this and still practice it to this day. To the celts and Wiccans halloween is called Samhain, pronounced Sowen.
