If there is any chance that having a mod xbox can get you banned from xbox live then I dont think its worth it unless you plan on playing through xboxconnector.com but after I read this post I did some research and wow you really upgrade your xbox with a huge hard drive and a better dvd/cd-rom plus use a USB to connect to your pc as well as have linux running right on your xbox thats crazy. Im sure that microsoft wants us to buy xbox as well as a PC with windows so they will try to keep us from exploring the possibilities of xbox. I have not found it but if microsoft says its illegal to mod then as a christian I wouldnt do it just like I would not illegally copy cds or games. Now making a backup copy(of a game you own) on the harddrive and then take your xbox to a friends house and just carry xbox and no discs like i hear people doing thats fine.

a web page with some xbox mods and info http://shop.system-mods.com/subcatmfgprod.asp?0=204&1=207&2=1075

it is stealing if you dont own the game you are burning, but i had a modded ps and i never felt bad about it, but if you like the games, buy them, dont just burn every game you want.

but its nice because the xbox will not run scrached games, and if you have people with clumsy hands or little ones about, your games are gonna get scratched and eventually wont work. so somtimes modding can be a good thing.

but you cant play xbox live with a modded xbox, so you have to turn the feature off to play online....so you cant play burnt games online.....so IMO there is no point, also if you log on to xbl and you left the modd features on, you will be banned immideatly permanently, so you are taking a chance with it. and there is no refund.

so i think modding is fine, but not worth it. plus any dvd player over $100 canadian will play vcd and divx movies, so i see no point in it.

NOTE: xbox games are not on cd's they are on DVD's so you will need a dvd burner....if you give up $400 for a dvd burner then go ahead.

I repeat, even if you do not own the game, it is not stealing. It is copyright infringment, which is a civil offense, not a crime.

I have a DVD Burner :) but not for this, for making DVD's of home videos and for backing up animation data. VHS is dead my freinds :)
