Yes... we must ask for Him to guide us in what to read and open His truth to us.
Being prayerful is important.

This results in scripture coming back to remembrance as we live, instead of the common day practice of putting words in God's mouth from the bible.

Yes for sure...

I guess that because many may miss the vital walk with Him that is on offer I raise these topics to present a living daily Jesus rather than a concept or a vague spiritual experience that only 'men of the cloth' attain to.

I'm not a man of the cloth, perhaps I just put too much effort into things.

I think it is more about letting Him work through us than our effort.

Seeking to be motivated by His love and a desire for His will will likely yield a better result without effort.

Colossians 3:15
Let the peace of Christ, to which you were indeed called in one body, rule in your hearts; and be thankful.

Many bible teachers insist that feelings have no place in determining God's Will and Truth.

This may be because they are personally unfamiliar with His voice of Peace within.

However, heart peace, among other things, is a legitimate means of determining God's intended direction for us.

Some insist that only by reading scripture can we know God's will for us.

These folks seem to believe that the voice of the Spirit within believers fell silent when the Scripture was sealed.

For me hearing God in the person of the Holy Spirit within is critical and normative, and His peace is a confirming factor in determining His will and Truth.

Your thoughts welcome... :)
Yes, there are lots of right feelings, that are motivators and without which we'd be dead. Godly sorrow, Godly anger, righteous indignation, moral outrage at injustices committed, the sense of evil, compassion for those in need, empathy, these and more are connected to love and truth as I see it. And sort of like knowledge, direct knowingness or experience or sense of the matters involved.

Yes - all of these and more as you say - but I have tried to focus on the peace that passes understanding that confirms if we are on track in His will or not.

I think that peace can be experienced to greater or lesser degree, but it's supernatural in any case, a matter of grace, beyond our own ability to produce. I've experienced it in extremely profound form once. I could not remain standing- I was in total awe. The sense of well-being was complete, total, unearthly. I needed to be hit extra hard at the time, I suppose

Yes - and the peace of God is to be the judge of all things in your heart...

Not always a massive experience but a gentle nudge.

This should be a standard experience for the saved.
