• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

HI there everyone!

I hope that all is well with you. I wanted to share this story cause I did alot of research on grieving over a job loss and it is just like grieving over someone who passed away.

Anyway, I am having a VERY bad day, I could not stop crying over this lay off and how I will have to say goodbye to my boss. :( SEE now two other jobs have offered me a position. This means I will start very soon. SO my last day with my boss will come alot shorter than i thought. What hurts is when I called my father he acted like he was annoyed with me calling WHERE AS when my boss receives a phone call from his family he is soooooooo happy to hear from them. My father only cares for me at HIS convience. This was one of the MAIN reasons I cryed. ALSO I am losing weight again (3 pounds) cause I am so sad about leaving. THIS IS ALL cause of my grief over leaving my boss that was more like a father to me.

PLEASE pray for me that I will CHOOSE the RIGHT JOB and my sadness will be healed!!!!

And if there is any advice you may have please let me know!!

God bless you all!

I cant affored to be jobless cause I KNOW my father would NOT give a HOOT about me cause HE is inlove with his money.

Gotta run GOD BLESS!!!!

Hon, it's not a matter of choosing the right job but rather letting God guide you to the right one. Pray for the wrong doors to close and for the right ones to open. I work for the state of Michigan and have gone through a few changes that were not my idea so I understand about grieving th eloss of coworkers who have become close friends but I have also learned through these experiences that there are good people to be found just about everywhere. And life involves a lot of changes regardless of the area there are in. I have faith that God will put you exactly where He wants you to be. If possible, try to feel the excitement of discovering what God has in mind for you next!

Thank you so much for your wise words of wisdome dear sister. Your words are full of logic and they are so right too. I have learned in the past (when I was in my late 20's) not to do things that I want rather do things that the Lord wants. As a result EVERY SINGLE night I am in DEEP PRAYER for the Lord to show me the right path HIS PATH!

God bless ya dear sister and once again Thank you for your kind words!
