  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello

This is all very new to me and (to be honest) very confusing! I do hope I have put this in the right place - if not, please forgive me.

I think that I will just have to wander round for a while and find out how everything works. When I get to grips with it all (around 2006) I will return and tell you a bit more about myself

Hello Ebenezer and welcome. I agree it takes some time to look around, maybe not a year though. I've found FAQ on the nav bar at the top of the screen very useful and the stickies at the top of forums too... I hope you like it here and have a great time meeting people and discussing and having recreation with us.

Well, you were absolutely right on all counts:

a) It is a friendly place!
b) It didn't take long to get used to it!
c) It is certainly addictive!

I've not got used to everything yet (what are stickies) I'm not sure about pets and reputations - and a whole lot of other things. I think I fiind the very size and variety to be a confusing issue in itself.

However, everyone has made me very welcome and I have certainly come here more frequently than I had intended to!
