We're talking about Greatest Christian band of ALL time.
Not the one you saw on some stage a couple weeks ago.
I guarantee you, the Greatest Christian band of ALL time will not be radio pop or bubblegum terribleness.

Greatest . . . hmmm.
Let's see: as greatest it would have to be a band that's very popular, and as Christian, they would have to have a good message, and it would have to be a band that can reach a wide audience.
I would say the Newsboys fit that mold well. There are other bands I'd listen to first (I like harder rock), but I do like them, and millions would agree. If you listen to more than just what the radio plays, you will notice that they have a lot of depth and many sounds. They are not a one dimensional band, and they have a proven track record.
As musical ambassadors for Christ, they do a fine job.

I chose Resurrection Band because there is probably no other band in the modern era (past 100 years) that has had as large an impact as they have.
They were the first band to truly play quality hard rock with a solid ministry.
They began in 1972, and performed their final concert in 2000.
They put out 15 albums over those years.
They influenced the influencers.
They opened doors for other bands to go through.
They helped up-and-coming artists.
They founded Cornerstone Festival in 1984, which gave a platform for all the "gospel rockers". At that time, rock bands were still not welcomed in the "Christian" market.
The only other artists that could possibly be listed with them would be Larry Norman or Petra.

Keep in mind that the question was for the 'greatest' christian band of all time, not necessarily your 'favourite' christian band. Half of the bands that have been said I have never heard of (keep in mind I'm from Australia). It would be good if you give reasons for saying why such-and-such a band is greatest.
