Should we write yours?
This thread is not about you, but it's taking a strong bend towards it. This thread was about how Watchman felt and what he was doing.
You sound really angry, D, in alot of what you say. Take a step back, and let this be about what it's supposed to be.
jere
Actually that hits closer to the matter than you may know.It does not dispute what he was, the way he was called, WHO called him, and the message he delivered.
I would gladly be honored to be considered like him.

God blessI have sin.. and do not mind admitting it. But I am not the resident stone thrower. I am not the one claiming to be a "watchmen" and presuming to go around correcting everyone and claiming "God told me to do it."
I haven't seen any post that Watchman proclaims this, maybe I missed it..Everyone needs rebuked and corrected at times in their life.
Am I am not at all angry! It certainly comes across that way.
I just find it ironic. The stone throwers roaring their warnings and denunciations.. and then when someone dares peep; "excuse me... are you qualified to do this?" they turn into smitten little kittens crying about how mean people are to them and asking "where is the love?" That is not anger.. it is astonishment! It is not judging.. it is just observation. I just find it all interesting and amazing!
Watchman did not do this, D. He said in just a few words that he was leaving. That's it. Nothing else. Everything else has been pure speculation on other's part, what they interpreted, myself included. He never responded to the thread either. So, he did not turn into a "smitten kitten" crying about how mean someone was to him.
And I do not at all apologize for this? If they are what they claim to be then lets see some backbone! Lets see some of that fire and brimstone.
Actually, the backbone and fire and brimstone was there in all of his posts. He was bold enough to proclaim what he believed God wanted him to proclaim.
Fact is.... they are not at all what they claim to be. They are not John the Baptist. They are not Jeremiah or Elijah. They are not some special class of believer who have license to do whatever they want and say whatever they want because of the urgency of their imagined task. They are not beyond question, beyond error, and beyond correction themselves. They do not have a corner on truth, and in no way are they qualified to do what they imagine they are called to do.
Did YOU place the call on his/their life? I think not, so you cannot say this with full truth. You don't know what God has commissioned them to do, just as they do not know what God has asked you to do. I pray though that He opens your heart and ears just a bit to hear and see. You are truly judging here.
If I am wrong in by beliefs then God can show me like He has in the past.
Sometimes God speaks to us, and we don't hear Him. He speaks to us in that still small voice. A voice that can not be heard unless we listen closely. Many say I cannot hear the voice of God (not saying you can't). But, God has spoken to them, they ignored what He said, and over the course of time, His voice has gotten dimmer and dimmer until it's no longer recognizable. it isn't that someone can't hear His voice, it's drowned out. I believe God will show you what He wants you to know.
Why should I listen and give heed to someone who, IMHO, is more messed up in their understanding of scripture than I. I don't know. Why would anyone listen to a tax collector preaching the gospel? Or the woman caught in adultery? Or countless others who were "messed up". God have mercy on us all here. But, I am willing to listen, not judge, hold it up to the light of God's holy Word, and if it bears weight, then I'll take it as gospel, if not, I'll just set it aside and let it go. But, I'll not make them feel bad for what they believed God said to them to share. It's better to step out and try than to not try at all.
lol, I disagree with this.Actually that hits closer to the matter than you may know.
Perhaps we could start a thread about how there are no John the Baptists today and why the model of the OT prophet does not belong in the church.
Excellent thought!
That is the heart of the matter.lol, I disagree with this.
The earth is covered with John the Baptists, crying "Prepare ye the way of the Lord" in the wilderness. Myself included.
