Went out walking with a friend yesterday afternoon along the canal and around the local nature reserve.
That happened to me at a company golf outing I participated in about 15-yrs ago. What looked like harmless cloudiness became a thundering torrent on the very furthest hole from the clubhouse. Didn't think I would need my poncho in my golf bag when it started to drizzle, so I gave it away. Soon, the lightening-bolts moved in close as it became very volatile and a number of us gathered under a large tree hoping, it wouldn't be next. Funny as it is, the name of that course was the 'Old Orchard' in Elkhart, Indiana where I place my personal best of 32 for a par-3, 9-hole course.Went out walking with a friend yesterday afternoon along the canal and around the local nature reserve.
It was warm and sunny - and at that time, it seemed the dry weather was here to stay!
My famous last words "I don't think we'll need to take coats".
Midway through the walk, it started clouding over and my friend started to get anxious - "Oh no! It's starting to rain!"
"Don't be silly. It's only a drizzle".
But that drizzle soon turned to a proper shower and then a torrential downpour.
Soaked right through, we ran for cover, but could not find anywhere. Fortunately, I eventually found a covered doorway where we were able to find some shelter until the storm passed!
We were both in agreement that, in hindsight, taking a rain coat would have been a good idea!
Without complaint, God is able to meet all, and so we request. Beautiful!I pray for us all, had a couple of weeks physically not too good, but still here. (not covid) Back on an even keel again. Sleeping myself better...
