  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

really like your character Ineedanangel. The character backstory is great. It's good to see some people who care for Character development as much as writing the RPG itself. It's just as important in my eyes.

WPZanar07,

I would love to join. I'm very sorry I didn't find this thread earlier, I'm just really new to this site and don't know the exact protocol for things yet! I have a character bio and first post up for approval in the main thread, but I can take that down if you want(if that's even possible...ah! newbie..) Also, two things I can do if you require it: 1) Make her strickly Wind but still human 2) Make her a new race that is strickly Wind. I'm very very intruigued by this setting and the backstory of your main character, I'd love to get in on this. And if you say no that's fine, but I'd like some feedback on why and if you can tell me anything I might not know about the particular etiquette of this site, I'd appreciate it!

ETA: Here is the character bio as I originally thought of her:

Now I wait for the official approval!

Hey Ivy,

I'm a veteran of alot of this. Here are some things to remember about RPGing on CF.

1: CF = Christian Forums if you didn't know that yet.
2: Usually every rpg has two thread attached to it.
A.The actual RPG thread
B. The OOC thread (this stands for Out of Character)

The OOC thread is where you should ask to join and post links to your character bio sheets. This thread acts as a chat room for those playing that RPG. You can inquire about rules, plot development, ask advice about what to do and so forth.

3. Always read as much of the RPG as possible before posting. I know some of the threads are really long. This would be where you would ask one of the players, in the OOC to drop you a summary of what's happend so far. It really hacks GMs (Game masters= those who start a thread) when someone jumps into an RPG and has no idea what's going on. In junction with this, make sure that you write within the GM's boundaries. Don't have a sci-fi character in and explicit Fantasy rpg! Not cool.

4. If you really want to get on people's good sides around here try to erase one-liner posts from your rpg arsenal. Be descriptive and let the writing flow out of you. The only time you'll be told to stop is if you control someone else's character.

5. Which brings us to this. Never, ever, ever, (unless given permission by the owner) take control of another person's character. This can be a fuzzy area sometimes. But if you punch another character, let that characters owner post thier response.

6. Spend a little time on character development. This is my favorite part of RPGing. I know that most of us have a certain type of character that is easiest for us to play. Begin with creating those you know you can write for. Such as: Don't write an evil character if you know that you would never harm a fly. It will show in your posts.

If you take a little time to create a good character, it can make a great difference in the total quality of the rpg that you are playing. Dig deep, don't let them be shallow unless that's their personality.

7. Never be afraid of asking questions. There are many of us who have been on here for a while. If you need anything just ask. I keep my pm box open all the time, so drop me a line if you need anything.

Hope that helps a little. If you need anything, I'm here to help.

~James~

Niko, that sound nice, but...I'd rather no one dual element...however, since Earth and Fire are closely related, I may allow it. After all, you could heat up the earth using the Earth element by using friction or something, or you could heat it up and melt it with the Fire element. However, Terstan, this differs from your suggestion, as you are going to be human. I think, in later posts, something called Elemental Seals will be broken, becoming accessible to everyone else although it will be much more difficult to learn.

But the race Niko suggests is good; the dual element works since they are creatures of magic, like the Dragonkind. The Dragonkind abilities differ from each element, like humans, but they can also live in different types of environments.

It will be good to have you aboard.

And TerstanPrince, I like the potential of your character. Quite "Wolverine-is" if you know what I mean.

Arg, RL has struck. Come Sunday, I will only have access to the internet about once a week for almost two months. If that far between posts becomes a problem, I can give permission to someone to write for me for that time, but I hope that doesn't become the case!

I also wanted to note that there are actually four (five if you count the wolf) in the party that escaped the city through the tunnel: Jon (+Han), Leon, Alicia, and Rhiana.
