Man is classified as an actual ape, The Barbarian.

Science has evidence that Adam, Eve and the garden as in the Bible are unlikely to exist. There is no genetic bottleneck corresponding to a population of a single couple. The dominant theory of the origin of Homo sapiens is from Africa which conflicts with the usual placement of Eden in the Middle East from the Biblical place names.

There is no physical structure that allows serpents to speak. There is the problem of a grape sized brain speaking whatever language Adam and Eve spoke.

The obvious workaround is miracles or acts of God which is religion, not science.
Communication in that time need not be verbal.
If the former nature did not have DNA like now...a bottleneck is not in the cards either.

Echoing your confusion based on thinking gen 2 is some alternate creation order is getting boring.

I'm citing Genesis 1. I believe a lot of the confusion could be cleared up if you spent a little time reading a Bible.

But you admit you claim man came from apes.

For some reason, it upsets you that God created us that way. I don't see why. After all, we merely have a body. We are, each of us, an immortal soul, and therefore different than any other animal.

I think out positions are clear..

Yes. You cling to your modern revision of Genesis. I'm willing to take it as God says.

Oh dear, dad, a "Aman777-like " post :)!
He has a "former nature" fantasy but vastly more extreme. The Bible is clear that Adam and Eve are the first man and woman and thus human beings with DNA. Their children were human. Their grandchildren were human. etc.

I missed out: No genetic bottleneck for any species corresponding to a creation however the numbers at creation are not specified. But we have the flood with 8 humans and small populations of species - no genetic bottleneck there either. So a DNA fantasy will have DNA appearing after the flood.

He does not have a "non-verbal communication" (telepathy?, sign language from a serpent?, Adam and Eve wiggling like a serpent?, blinking in Morse code?) fantasy - yet.

Usually a bottleneck is fatal. On the other hand, all the hamsters in the United States are genetically the descendants of a single pair taken in Syria.
Is there any chance they are an ISIS fifth column? The evidence of conspiracy is there: wheels within wheels.

In Gen 1 the things created on the day mentioned for creating sea creatures and birds of course the sea brought forth stuff.

I must have missed the verse that said Adam had DNA and it was the same as now?

Their children were human. Their grandchildren were human. etc.
Correct. And things changed a lot, in nature.

FYI the nature change was after the flood.

Who knows? My guess is telepathy.

Earth, air, and water brought forth living things, as God intended. No magic poofing needed.

The earth brought nothing forth by itself.

God created it, after all, and gave it the capacity to produce life as He intended. Why do you find a natural origin for life to be so offensive? Why not just accept it God's way?

And he didn't directly breath life into any of his creatures except man, making man a living soul. That's why we're different than other animals.

Yes and He created Adam. That doesn't mean Adam brought forth Eve!! It means God worked with what was already created to create something new.
And he didn't directly breath life into any of his creatures except man, making man a living soul. That's why we're different than other animals.
I know. So those who think we are like animals are totally mistaken.

Yes and He created Adam.

If you'll concede that much, why not also admit the way He did it?

That doesn't mean Adam brought forth Eve!!

God merely said that the Earth brought forth life. I don't know why that's so offensive to you.

It means God worked with what was already created to create something new.

It means He created the Earth to do what He intended. God is all-powerful; He doesn't have to tinker with creation to make it work.

Barbarian observes:
And he didn't directly breath life into any of his creatures except man, making man a living soul. That's why we're different than other animals.

Then why not just accept it, without your modern re-interpretation?

So those who think we are like animals are totally mistaken.

We have the bodies of apes. It's our soul that matters.

Adam had no capacity to produce Eve. I kid you not. Together they had the capacity to keep producing after creation week.

How would we know how to create a man from dust, or to breathe life in him??

God merely said that the Earth brought forth life. I don't know why that's so offensive to you.
Not by itself, any more than the earth brought Adam and Eve by itself. He used what was created in creating more.

He tinkered. He Himself formed man and breathed the life into us, and made woman from man. Eve did not come from dirt.

Did Marilyn Monroe look like an ape to you?

The creationist's god is a small thing, indeed. They think if we can't do it, then He can't do it.

Not by itself, any more than the earth brought Adam and Eve by itself. He used what was created in creating more.

Of course. You just don't approve of the way He did it. We get that.

He tinkered. He Himself formed man and breathed the life into us, and made woman from man. Eve did not come from dirt.

Only indirectly, as all living things alive today do.

Did Marilyn Monroe look like an ape to you?

If you had to pick a different species most like humans, which would it be? Yep. So there you are.

I find apes to be less like man than other animals and even bugs.
You might say that God was weak because he used Adam to create Eve. Or maybe you don't even believe it?

That's not the dumbest thing I've ever heard, but it's close.

To you, He's weak. To me, He's using a very good allegory for the relationship between men and women. I'll go with mine.

Ants work hard. Monkeys pick lice. Bees make honey and hives out of materials they find. Monkeys climb a tree. Lions can be bold. Monkeys make silly noises....etc. The character of man is more important than some superficial resemblance.

So now Eve was not reaallllly created. Just some allegory. Sure...

She was. You're just displeased with God about the way He did it.

Just some allegory.

Do you think the story of Abraham and Isaac is "just some allegory?"

She was. You're just displeased with God about the way He did it.

The way He says in the bible works fine for me.

By a parable? Do you think the story about Isaac and Abraham is just an allegory?

Because the Bible says it's figurative.

Believing the bible and how it says Eve was created displeases God? Ha.

No.

Because the Bible says it's figurative.
That too.
