Maybe. The god of the Bible is not only illogical but also seems to defy common sense in much of its behavior. For instance, as you suggested in the other thread, your god may have removed all the evidence of a flood to prevent Noah from freaking out. If he can just disappear things at will, why go through all the trouble of creating the flood, flooding the world, having Noah build and ark, collect all animals, etc when he could have simply removed all evil people from the world and be done with it?I've always said that God trumps logic.
Especially the Godhead, which violates the Law of Non-contradiction.

By doing it the way He did, i.e. slowly and methodically, it gave them a chance to convert.Maybe. Of course, we know that not all atheists convert in times of fear and I could not even venture a guess as to what percentage does.By doing it the way He did, i.e. slowly and methodically, it gave them a chance to convert.
What we call "deathbed conversions."
As the saying goes: There are no atheists in foxholes.
In my opinion, most of those who drowned (if not all of them), got saved before they died.

Also, I think this is something else that defies common sense and morality. By threat of violent and horrifyingly frightful death (as is drowning) your god supposedly may have extracted retractions and conversion from people. So far YHWH is illogical, has no common sense and uses unethical methods to extract what he wants forcefully. Ouch.

And they didn't need Jesus?!?!?In my opinion, most of those who drowned (if not all of them), got saved before they died.

Terrorism? So then, terrorism is both holy and justified
Essentially, using fear to effect a change in people.Terrorism?
I'm afraid you lost me on that one.
Essentially, using fear to effect a change in people.
Deathbed confessions ≠ terrorism.Essentially, using fear to effect a change in people.
If you view this in terms of terrorism only, you're not going to understand what happened and why.A relatively minor change, in light of the major change from alive --> dead.
Deathbed confessions ≠ terrorism.
I would venture to say it kept raining, even when everyone was dead.
Well, I'll avoid using loaded labels like that but I want to know a bit more of what you think. You don't feel it was cruel for YHWH to kill people like that because they were corrupt? You don't feel like things could've been handled better in that case?Deathbed confessions ≠ terrorism.

Let me remind you of the point that's being addressed here:Nobody ever claimed your depiction was of a competent terrorist...
Had God done it sandwiches' way, they would all be in Hell right now.If he can just disappear things at will, why go through all the trouble of creating the flood, flooding the world, having Noah build and ark, collect all animals, etc when he could have simply removed all evil people from the world and be done with it?
Well, like I asked in my last post. You don't find it a cruel way of punishing people, specially from an omnipotent being? On that omnimax point, why not simply remove their evil or sin?Let me remind you of the point that's being addressed here:Had God done it sandwiches' way, they would all be in Hell right now.
Don't you agree?
Or can you even understand?
I don't answer posts that call Him "YHWH", sandwiches.Well, I'll avoid using loaded labels like that but I want to know a bit more of what you think. After all, even your god apologized for flooding the Earth and promised to never curse it again.
