Take any of the 'main reasons' and find the root cause. There you'll find Godlessness.
If you find anything else, let me know.
There's your problem, isn't it?
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
It's not about Who you know, it's about Who knows you.
Yes.
Ever heard of Moses killing an Egyptian?
Samson killing Philistines?
Both are mentioned in what we call the Hall of Faith (Hebrews 11).
Yet ...
Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Entrance into Heaven is based on one thing:
Is your name written in the Lamb's Book of Life?
Evidently George Carlin's father thought the same thing.I didn't say I had a problem with it, but as a basis for a system of morality, it is not something I would teach to my children.
Not yet -- his appointment is coming up though; and I promise you: he will bow the knee before Him.Then he didn't face the god you know.
There's nothing like a good dichotomy, is there?Sounds like a monster to me. WHat sort of dispicable being cares more for what people believe than how they act?
Isn't that like saying that I'll take any kid to disneyland, as long as they publicly proclaim I am the best? I'll take Johnny, who tortures kittens, steals other kids' lunch money and cheats on his exams. But little Suzie, who studies hard, donates her pocket money to charity and rescues baby birds, she doesn't think I'm the greatest, so she can't go.
Do you really think Johnny is the most deserving kid here? And yet this is exactly the sort of behaviour that you claim God engages in.
Did you read the passage I quoted and compare it with the Hall of Faith?Would Jesus agree with you?
There's nothing like a good dichotomy, is there?
What's bad though is when you don't know much in between.
Was not his summation of your religion accurate?Evidently George Carlin's father thought the same thing.
Maybe one day you're children will make you proud by posting on here about how good Mr. Carlin was at "summing things up pretty well", eh?
Do you have a date for that, Mr. Camping? Making promises that you cannot keep?
Just as weight occurs when gravity is resisted, religion occurs when the Bible is resisted.I dare you to define religion in a way that doesn't also include what you believe.
I dare you to define religion in a way that doesn't also include what you believe.
To a born again Christian, a religion is a system designed on man's
ideas and rituals. The bible is direct from God so is not designed by
man. It is a personal relationship with Jesus/God. It does not require
rituals nor does it worship idols.
There is a difference between world religions and Christianity. If you want
to call Christianity a religion, that is fine but we don't associate ourselves
as a religion.
