It is guided, just not by anything sentient. There are reasons why we don't see organisms that make 0 sense for the environments they live in; natural selection might not be intelligent, but environmental pressures do push life to go in certain directions. Unless you support god guided evolution, in which case it is guided by a sentient being.

You keep making good points for natural selection that creates variety in species. Using that (natural selection and shared characteristics) to make guesses all the way back to the first bacteria is not fact.

I am not a UCA supporter anyways, but honestly, good luck finding some limit on natural selection and genetic mutation that prevents chimpanzees and humans from sharing an ancestor. Chances are you have argued for variation within "kinds" that extends to greater phenotypic and genetic differences than we have between humans and chimps.

Btw, glad you returned to the dragon pic, I wasn't a fan of the new one

If you lived in America, I find that extremely unlikely.

You were either raised to believe in a parody of evolution or you've forgotten what you were taught, because you've shown a very poor understanding of how it works. At least on this site.

That's a mouthful of assumptions and speculation.

Why is it that supporters of evolution believe that anyone that doesn't follow their belief is uneducated, taught with false information or of low intelligence.

Do you find it that hard to believe that intelligent, educated people can look at evolution and toss it to the side for something they believe to be the truth?

Of course not, however, I don't blame the guy for making that assumption. You know how many ignorant statements I see about evolution and other scientific theories on this site?

In no particular order:

1. The boy may not have been dead.
2. The boy in the picture was one who resembled what was imagined the dead boy would look like six years later.
3. The picture was faked.
4. A stranger was visiting and was included in the picture.
5. People lie for all kinds of reasons.

Those are off the top of my head. I could probably come up with several more if I chose to think about it for longer than 60 seconds.

Yes, people do this all the time when they are mourning the loss of a child. "we'll just fake a photo with him in it and carry it around to tell people",

Happens all the time.

How about this one.

A lady and her daughter watch her son's baseball game from the shelter of the scorekeepers hut at the end of the third base line. It was cold and they wanted to watch, out of the wind. The sister is bored and is reading a book but forgets it there when the game is over and they leave to go home. The next morning the mother goes back to get the book and take it to her daughter at school. When she gets to the hut, there is a homeless person sleeping there, also to get out of the wind. She approaches with caution and nervousness but there is no incident. After dropping the book off to her daughter's school, she decides to take a meal to the homeless man. When she gets there the homeless man asks where her friend is. She is confused and asks him to explain. The homeless man tells of a large well dressed man that was walking with her when she came the first time. The woman was with nobody else when she came. The homeless man said that because of this man he was deterred from attempting to try to take her purse as he was hungry and needed money for some food.

That is quite common, many people prefer to let their beliefs override facts. You can't use reason to change a stance that was not arrived at by reason in the first place.

Like I said, one possible explanation is that people lie. We can't tell without access to any evidence. They can also be mistaken, deluded, or simply misremember.

Which God used evolution to create man and why would a God need the long drawn out process of evolution?

You know evolution is a fact but you also need to include your God so why not kill two birds with one stone and dismiss the creation story and say God used Evolution to create everything?
Problem, Christianity needs the stories in Genesis otherwise it becomes even more meaningless than it already is.

These words could have been written by Satan himself. This is exactly what he would like to see Christians argue about. Dismiss scripture as false. Just like when he said "you will not surely die!". Only here he says "it didn't take just six days". "God didn't create a full grown man".

He wants it to be close enough to truth for man to fall for the trap but still a lie in order to draw man away from the truth and God.

Some parts of the bible may be written in ways that are difficult to understand clearly as they are written in metaphors and such. Genesis is not one of them. It is clear, concise, matter of fact and devoid of poetry, symbolism, or metaphors and it is definitely not a parable.

Adam literally means "dirt" or "clay" in Hebrew. Nearly half the people in the OT have name puns, how is that not ancient symbolism?

Sorry, I meant the story is not symbolism.

The names, you are totally correct. It's pretty amazing that the gospel was presented this early. Read down the meanings in English from Adam to Noah.

Hebrew English
Adam................... Man
Seth..................... Appointed
Enosh................... Mortal
Kenan .................. Sorrow;
Mahalalel.............. The Blessed God
Jared..................... Shall come down
Enoch ................... Teaching
Methuselah............. His death shall bringch The Despairing
Noah...................... Rest, or Lame comfort

Of course it's symbolism and complete fable.

Of course it's a complete fable that the names of the first of the most important men of time explain that man being mortal will sin and God will come down to teach them and bring comfort through His death.

Sure, has fable written all over it.

Yeah, except we're not made of "dirt," and fables contain talking animals.

:p

This is the first sentence you've written regarding Genesis that actually makes sense. Of course on its own it is contrary to what you meant, but you vigorously support creationist quote mining and believe that when they rip something out of context and convolute its intentions as they did with Colin Patterson, it's still true. You must be fine with others doing the same to you if you defend and uphold the practice. So.........I'm glad you finally understand that the creation story is a fable!

Come now, quote mining is bad form, regardless.

;)

(Yes, I know you're just making a point.)

Of course it's bad form and tacky, but I was just imitating my elders here. :D
