God told me to preach against sin until sin is exceedingly sinful again

I've seen many churches that look like newage churches. All about believing and not doing. All about love for a buzz, and not doing what you should to have joy. It has all harmed me greatly in my life. I was wrong to think I was too young to understand before. I was not too young, I was weak and intimidated. The harm these churches do is immeasurable to people.

lets be all lovey dovey, tolerant of everything under the sun, do it on my terms, no consequences because i am loved, all go to heaven, even the hindus..... yes the new age is all over the place in the church. it's awful.

God gives grace to the humble, and most sin preachers don't. Here's a brief look into my life. I love preaching sin. I use a teaching called Hell's Best Kept Secret that talks about how the law is used to bring conviction to a person, so I agree with every single quote joevberry3 posted. But to live by the law makes one die by the law. The tree in the garden had both the knowledge of good and bad, and both led to death. The law is perfect, and it changes one. Jesus always used the law when proud people came to Him. But to Nicodemus, He used grace. And in Acts there was grace, as these were devout Jews who had come to celebrate the law. If you don't understand the grace, be careful in the law. It took a near divorce (the papers were filled out), and coming close to wishing I was dead for me to understand the grace of God. I almost left my two children, one who was one, the other was four. It did nearly kill me. I see sin as horrible, but my heart has empathy. Fall on the rock before it falls on you. But I also saw that in that, you want people around who will just be there for you. I had one person who came and said "Vince, I know you're going through a hard time. If you want to talk, I'm here for you. If not, no problem. Let's go golfing." while the rest were telling me what I should or shouldn't do. That one person showed me more of God's love then all the rest, except my pastor. Someone caught in sin? I can say they need to repent, but I'll lend a hand to get them there, and I sure as stink won't think it could never happen to me.

Quaffer, many sins send people to hell. And you better watch yourself if that's the case with how you think. Haven't you read verses about drunkenness, fornication, homosexuality, thiefs, liars, revilers, etc. If people do them and die they will go to hell, but for lesser sins they won't. The bible is clear that there are some sins that are worse than others and some that will send you to hell. But I know you're church doesn't tell you the truth.

It's the doctrine of churches that kiss their rears all the time and get their money that leads them to believe they can never lose their salvation. They think they have to smile and be caring to people and they are fine.

This is true. Love is patient and with a calm tone and no evil eye. People who can live their life better need to also see the way out and the way to do things. If you can give them some suggestions of what to do instead they may not take them but at least they are seeing toward the future in a way as an alternative. If you focus on the problem only, they will know that you are just wanting to make them feel bad. Anyone would be suspicious of your motives in that case.

Amen brother! As believers, when we are down we don't need to hear what has brought us down. We need someone who is willing to help us back up!

If a person is drowning we don't stop and tell them, "Hey, your drowning" do we? Of course not. We help them by getting along side them and helping them to safe ground.

Agreed! It is also true that a drowning man cannot be saved until he has lost his will to fight, lest he drown his own rescuer in an attempt to save himself. Patience is the key.

Going to church for 30 years and stay with the preaching of sin Sunday after Sunday wont let you grow past the first stages. We are growing up to the full stature of Christ and do need a spiritual balanced diet. Therefore God gave us the Five-fold ministry

I agree altya--But we also have to remember we may have been a Christian for 10 years or maybe 30 years--but there will always be people in the pews around us that need to hear about sin.(Im talking about visitors and people that have just started coming to church)

Ok, another little bit. Having gone through the closest thing to hell on earth that I can imagine, I no longer sing "God humble me" or "God break me" because it was bad. But now when I talk about pride, and humility, there is usually a time I have to stop so I don't start crying. I am a fighter, I trained fighters, and I've fought in the ring and won. I am a 'tough' guy. I am also well educated, will finish my professional designation soon. When God broke me, I came to the place where I can honestly say I count it all as lose, except to know Jesus Christ, and the power of God. I don't count it all as useless, I've worked hard to get to where I am, but I'd trade it all to know God better. But it took a breaking to get there. Once broken, I talk about sin and repentance with tears in my eyes. I know apologetics, I know God is real, I know the Bible is the word of God, and I know God is for me. But I also fear God. I fear that after I've done everything, that I could be disqualified. I fear sin, because I fear going against the God who gave His life for me. Some may not understand this, but it has kept me from a lot of trouble. And because of this fear, I will preach law to the proud, but I will do it with a desire to bring them to a relationship with God, so they can fall on the rock before it falls on them, not from a desire to show people how bad they are. I believe in repentance, I believe people need to turn to God. But then they need to get their eyes on Him, the author and finisher of their faith.

Sin in a Christians life is like a trip to the washroom. You go and leave the **** there, then get on with your life. No one wants to live in the toilet, and no one should have to. Some may get stuck there, but I'm not going to.

I too minister to the lost and those who are caught up in cares of the world. Just because you do not see us hitting people upside the head does not mean we are not doing what God has given us to do.

Jonah had a very unbalanced message to Ninevah - all judgement, no grace - just what those people needed. Please don't worry about criticism from Christians. God made us all different. As long as you know you are speaking the oracles of God, you're in His will. Let God raise up someone else to preach the message of affirmation, if He didn't lay that on your heart.

"Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand." Rom 14:4

You totally misunderstood my point here.
When we go to Church--Me, you,and altya need to be fed meat..But, there are still always people around us that arent as mature as us, that still needs milk.
How does a Pastor distinguish between the two? Say for example, a Preacher is Pastor at a Church with 400 people? Lots of that 400 may or may not yet be saved. We still have to preach to some "milk." and some "meat"

Maybe you have a better understanding of what I meant.

Praise God for you Brother! Thanks for the Kind words! Nah, im not needing man's approval. I can say it does get hard from time to time. Especially obeying God and preaching what he TELLS me to preach instead of preaching what people want to hear.
I will never tell people "your sin is ok" or agree with someones sin. And no, that isnt being judgemental(i say this cause im sure someone will send a post accusing me of judging sin)
But I have found when I obey God instead of Man, i have been blessed in so many ways. I have been taken up into Heaven in visions, i have been given prophecy's of things to come(so far all has came true-such as Libya admitting they had weapons, i knew by the Holy Spirit days before they would allow the U.N. in.) These are things that didnt happen to me until I gave all to Jesus Christ.
Actually, I like it when i am ridiculed and persecuted especially by other Christians. Remember Jesus wasnt even accepted by his family in his own home town.

And thank you for raising up others to preach your oracles from the seemingly opposite perspective. You are awesome! Continue to bless Joe with confirmations of your approval, and give him more and more wisdom in your truths. Heal Joe of any hurts he might have. Protect him from further hurt. Give him supernatural strength and victory in times of temptation. Give him the spirit of prophecy - the testimony of Jesus - and victory over the accuser of the brethren with his own testimony and the blood of Jesus. And credit his belief in you for righteousness.
