  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If you recognize the KJV Bible for what it is, then you know what it is; about time in the Word of God.
Again, you specify "the KJV Bible". How is the KJV different in message from other translations of the appropriate Hebrew and Greek texts which comprise the canon of the Bible?

"...about time in the Word of God" The Bible is about far more than merely 'time'. I do not understand the point you are attempting here. Please clarify.

Kenneth Redden said:
I believe there are two messages written in the KJV Bible. The first is the straight flat literal message; in which the Christian Church is mired.
The main message in the Bible (KJV or other) is mankind is alienated from God, and what God did to fix that alienation. That is the function of Christ's followers - 'the church'. This message and function is often referred to as 'spreading the gospel'. Your use of the term 'mired' is curious.

That's like saying an arithmetic class is 'mired' in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Kenneth Redden said:
The second one is, the demonstration of the Revelation of Jesus Christ and the Spirit and of power; given the apostle Paul.
How is that different from the main message?

I do not agree with the idea of 'hidden'. The statement is rather blatant and not subject to subtlety or hidden meaning.
But 1 Corinthians 2:7 tells us of this "hidden wisdom" m" ordained before the world unto our glory: Therefore judge nothing before the time."
You, Archie; are mired and can not escape the time.

The Gnostics were "mired" in their "hidden wisdom".

Anything that creates an "elite class" of Christians that are "in the know" with "secret knowledge" that the rest of the poor, dumb Christians are restricted from knowing - creates temptation to pride.

And God tempts no man.

The citation from 1st Corinthians is a quotation of Isaiah 64:4.
Isaiah the Prophet said:
Since ancient times no one has heard or perceived, 7
no eye has seen any God besides you,
who intervenes for those who wait for him.
The note 7 indicates the phrase 'heard or perceived' also implies 'not listened'.

Paul's comments to the Corinthians is discussing the wisdom supplied by God. It is not common knowledge among those who will not listen, and is 'hidden' in a mystery. Not something hidden from believers, but unapprehended by those who do not seek after or listen to God. It does NOT refer to the 'secret knowledge' of the Gnostics.

Okay, and?

There is another way to view it. Do you believe that it is hidden, "from believers?" It is free and open to everybody.

You, Mr. Redden are deluded in your understanding of Jesus', and Paul's, teaching.

I agree one-hundred percent.
You, Mr. Redden are deluded in your understanding of Jesus', and Paul's, teaching.
You are looking at scripture from the position of others in the KJV Bible. That's the wrong message. The correct position for us reading the KJV Bible today, is with others; having knowledge here in the 21st Century. We better understand our world.

The phrase, "from the beginning," occurs in the OT, ten times after Proverbs eight. Having occurred three times before the book of Psalms, and the instrument of ten strings in Psalms 33:2, Psalms 92:3 & Psalms 144:9. Christ's coat is without seam, woven from the top throughout.
The superscription was written in Hebrew and Greek and Latin: may English be the fourth letter.
Amen.
Ten space time dimensions, with eleven times; "from the beginning." Possible "M Theory" insertion here.

Mr. Redden, I detect another episode of 'not quite understanding' on your part.

The full thought of current M-theory is the Universe did not begin of itself, but as part of a greater 'multi-verse' or 'Bulk' (the term varies, but it is the 'greater' structure from which 'our' Universe springs. Also, as such, there is NO NEED for a Creator in the Biblical sense. In M-theory, God - as shown in the Bible as ultimate - does not exist.

You cite some gibberish about 'days' which appear to be a cloaked version of numerology and mysticism based on who knows what.

So your comment about having a "...case for M-theory and the days of Creation..." is without any serious Biblical foundation or even explicable logic. In many facets of reality, this sort of thinking is recognized as 'delusion'. And I've wasted enough time dealing with it.

The reference to M-Theory, is the ten space time dimensions and the ten times, "from the beginning," occurs in the KJV Old Testament; after Proverbs eight. In eleven dimensions; counting one for the three times, "from the beginning," occurs before the book of Psalms. These dimensions are the only things taken from this theory. The KJV book of Psalms may have been written for the second day. (see doublets of days, Psalms 90:1-7, Psalms 93)

And that wisdom is the wisdom of the fifth day and sixth day, as explained in 2 Peter 3:8. This is prophesized in Revelation 6:9-11. This is realized in Revelation 20:1-7.
