... creationism requires a complete rejection of anything resembling reason, logic, or honesty.
Good.

I've seen what your 'reason, logic and honesty' do to other stories in the Bible, such as Noah's Flood [and even the title of this thread], and I want no part of it.

Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
Isaiah 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

I love science. I'm a science teacher! Just because most people, including scientists, preclude Christ out of their bias prone minds doesn't mean we all do.
I don't buy into a six 24 hour day creation any more than I buy into evolution. It's all about evidence. And all the evidence is plain because of scriptures and because of science proving scriptures. True science always supports scriptures and vice versa.

Would that really matter? if you turn your back on the Bible, I'm sure you would turn your back on Egypt's records.
It would matter. If Moses appeared in Egypt's records I'd find that absolutely fascinating. Along with Daniel. It would prove these men existed and likely did the things the Bible claims they did. It would enhance the Bible as an historical record.

Big deal -- Egypt recorded being inhabited by deities, and you deny that.
As did most cultures. As did the Hebrews. Which led to "my god is bigger and badder than your god."

Do you Internet scientists really think we care what you consider valid?
You live in a strange world where you refuse to accept reality unless you like it. You make up odd little scenarios that help you to accept the Bible no matter how whacky it may get. You pretend that doing so is winning you points with some god someplace. Seriously, with all that going on do you think I worry about what you think about what I consider valid? Your opinions change by the minute depending upon what goofy thing you've discovered to make the Bible true today. The only thing that doesn't change is you can be counted upon to deny your nose is on your face if you think it contradicts a word in the Bible.

You were asked what the oldest city in the world is -- if you don't know, just say so; don't bore us to death telling us why.
And I answered you. Sorry your little head can't contain more than a few words of information if it doesn't say "Jesus" or "God" every third word.

You can start with what is called creatio ex nihilo -- creation out of nothing.
Never happened. It's imaginary. Or, as you creationists are fond of saying, you can't replicate it can you? Were you there when it happened? Has anyone ever seen it happen? Then it didn't happen. End of story.

A
nd until you learn nothing as it applies to creationism, you'll not understand much of anything.
Don't worry... there's nothing to learn about creationism that isn't contained in one word. "Goddidit". There. You have a graduate degree in creationism.

You want to compare your Friend's List to mine, newbie? or compare your pats on the back in PMs to mine? or would you like to compare the words of encouragement you get from your buddies to the words of encouragement I get from mine?
These matter why? A bunch of fellow people who want to score points with god. Doesn't mean you're right. Just means you're kissing up.

You're not 1/16 what I am here -- so don't act like you know twice more than I do and expect me to feel more ignorant.
You're nothing here. Zip. Nada, nothing. You have no status, no rank, nothing. That too is imaginary. If you left today the forum wouldn't even notice other than old posts wouldn't be resurrected at quite such an alarming rate. The only person that thinks so highly of you is you.

Then why do I usually have the most posts in most threads in C&E (until just recently), with some threads where I have twice as much as the 2nd poster does -- newbie?
Anyone can post a lot. It just means you don't have much of a life. And those that post one word or number posts tend to be able to post a whole lot. This may be a record post for you. But since it's about your favorite subject... you, that's not a surprise.

You are wrong.

The evidence is clear.
We now know that the Egyptians intentionally removed the whole episode of The Exodus and Moses from their history.

We also know that all Egypt had converted to monotheism in 1362BC which dove tails with genetic evidence recently establishing that Aaron lived at that same date.

Following Akhenaten's death, change was gradual at first.

Within a decade a comprehensive political, religious and artistic reformation began promoting a return of Egyptian life to the norms it had followed during his father's reign.

Much of the art and building infrastructure created during Akhenaten's reign was defaced or destroyed in the period following his death, particularly during the reigns of Horemheb and the early Nineteenth Dynasty kings.
Stone building blocks from Akhenaten's construction projects were later used as foundation stones for subsequent rulers' temples and tombs.
Evidence?

Riiiight --

Are you telling me that Egypt's records would confirm God's Word?

If so, I'm glad Egypt doesn't mention anything.

All you guys would do is spout your nonsense about, "Ya, and Troy is mentioned in the Illiad, so what?"

Why would atheists be on a Christian forum? It is akin to a handful of chickens trying to float on a lake full of ducks lol.
Why are Christians trying to force science teachers to teach creationism? Why is there "in god we trust" on our money? Why are politicians unelectable unless they profess their great love for God?

So I came here to chat with you about these things. I'm a duck just like you are and I can swim on this lake the same as you. I just don't believe there's another lake in the sky we all go to when we die.

You guys think that what you believe makes you so different from everyone else. You quack me up.

Like I said, you have no clue what evidence means.

No, Egypt's records would not confirm "god's word".

Egypt's records, if they existed, would confirm that a man named Moses existed and that the story of his life was real. It would not confirm that God existed or that the Nile turned to blood or that the first born of Egypt were killed by a vengeful deity. All it would do is show that Moses existed.

Just like George Washington never actually chopped down a cherry tree and said, "I cannot tell a lie". Those are stories that grow up around people. Sometimes the people are real. Sometimes they are not. Sometimes they represent other people.

You and your literal ilk like to think that because a city is mentioned in the Bible and because that city exists that the Bible is true. No, that means that the city existed then. James Bond novels mention London. It doesn't make them true. It doesn't mean Bond really exists just because London does.

Troy is a city that was lost to the ages but I believe they've found it now. Doesn't mean Achilles was really blessed by the gods with invincibility except for his heel.

Sometimes. With some people. Other times it's just plain stupid. Like when you get going about magic creation.

Please don't bother. I wouldn't consider you a friend. More of an acquaintance.

Hey, pal, if the splitting of time itself into B.C. and A.D. doesn't convince you that C and D exists, why should we think the splitting of a book's pages or a 30' stele is going to cut it?

You don't fool me one bit.

Really? You don't like your own argument tossed back in your face?

See, one doesn't have to actually BE someplace to know what happened there.

Ya -- that's why we have six different theories about the moon, isn't it?

Funny how you didn't have to BE there when that primordial [indivisible] atom suddenly expanded, yet you don't 'know' how we got our moon.

In other words, don't tell me how the universe got started, if you can't even tell me how we got our moon.

So because some priests decided to start the calendar at a certain point God must exist? That's... dumb.

1 Corinthians 4:7
For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?

Therefore, all glory belongs to God.
Nuts.

"We" don't have six different theories. You do. We have one prevailing theory on how the moon came to be. It's the only one that fits all the data.

As to the "primordial [indivisible] atom" suddenly expanding... well, once again you're way off. It's called a "singularity". It's not an atom. And if you take the trajectories of all the galaxies and wind them back they all end up in one place. Nobody knows "how" we just know it they all came from the same spot at the same time. It's unlikely we'll ever know "how" because everything that was a part of that singularity has been destroyed in the creation of this universe.

Oh, you haven't even read this. It's not relevant to your world view which is all about what God did. If you respond at all I'll get a pithy one sentence answer.

I can hardly wait.
