Thinking God creates lightening, well that's pretty easily explained, storms, how the sea moves and works, all these things God supposedly controls are fully explained. And in most cases , recreatable.

This just shows me more and more that Nature does what it does and is more incredible than just thinking some dude in the sky did it.

Nature is more incredible than you imagine IMO.

Evolution is a better story than the Bible. (Yes I called it a story, for effect)

They aren't necessarily in conflict by the way, or in opposition, as witnessed by the Catholic position on evolutionary theory.

Add up everything and then pile on top the questions of why God doesn't stop famine or war or tornado or earthquakes etc etc etc etc etc... all of this simply suggests either God does not exist, or God has much less power than we are to believe, meaning he lied... or he's really not very nice.

You would need to understand the *purpose* of life on Earth to really know if God was 'nice' or not.

As for a lack of relationship...with God?... Don't need him, since "leaving" him, I have much happier and more excited about life.

Ok. Just out of curiosity, what motivates you to post *here* on this specific forum of all the sites you could chose from in cyberspace?

May I question how you came to Faith and why you continue to believe?

I was "taught" a brand of Christianity as a child, which I ultimately rejected in favor of atheism for about nine years. My own internal experiences brought me full circle in terms of embracing theism again, and even Christianity again, albeit not the form of Christianity I embraced as a child.

Why did I find this forum?... A google search.

What do I hope to gain from posting here?... I do not know, but so far I have gained a large insight into many things.

But again, you are asking me personal questions, you are trying to figure me out and find a hole in my thinking.

I do believe we have reached an amicable "agree to disagree" cross roads.

It would also seem as though we have little that divides our beliefs.
