  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No I'm not being anything on purpose.

How is the Gospel message of Jesus embedded in nature?

How could you know?

Is it a case of, if you have been told about "The plan" then you must follow Jesus, but if know one told you about "The plan" then you don't actually need to know about Jesus, because Jesus is in nature?

How do you see Jesus in Nature?... And please do not find a picture of an orange or something that looks like Jesus.

And how do you accept Jesus if you never even heard the name, let alone the story?

Clearly not. Please do explain.
Wow ... just wow.

Wow ... just wow.

I admitted I do not know what seeing Jesus in nature means. That is why I asked you to explain.

This is the thing Av, I don't understand something you have said about your beliefs. I am asking you to teach me this missing piece of information.

Your above reply is a little distant.

Let me get this straight.

I mention that seeing the Gospel in nature is a feat that God gives to those who will otherwise never hear the Gospel message.

And you come back with, "I don't know what seeing Jesus in nature means"?

Of course you don't ... you shouldn't.

1. How can I explain it to you? I've already heard the Gospel message.

2. I assume you have already heard the Gospel message. How are you now going to have this privilege? I don't have it either.

Yes.

I got that notion from this...
That means that the Gospel message of Jesus Christ is embedded in nature.

I'm still waiting for you to explain this statement.

I'm still waiting for you to explain this statement.
Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Psalm 19:2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
Psalm 19:3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
Psalm 19:4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
Psalm 19:5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
Psalm 19:6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

The heavens may declare the glory of God, but they certainly don't declare a literal interpretation of Genesis.

The heavens may declare the glory of God, but they certainly don't declare a literal interpretation of Genesis.
That's where the rest of Psalm 19 comes in:

Psalm 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

God reveals Himself to man in two ways:

1. General revelation = nature.

2. Special revelation = the Bible.

Psalm 19 speaks of both types.

Ok spurred by another post, could someone explain to me, if there is only "One true God"
How is it that there are people on this planet who have never heard of such?

Does God not have the power to form belief without the help of man?

Surely each God is simply a learned piece of knowledge, so if no one had ever told you about God, this would mean you have no knowledge of his/her/it's existence and therefore do not believe or love in any such deity.

Would this then mean that in the realm of the Christian bible, these innocent untaught people would not be allowed into heaven for non belief?

If this is the case, why would God not teach them himself or send someone to teach them.

Does this mean that God has no power and relies on man to spread his own word?

Do you know what you said insults yourself? It mean you CAN NOT learn.

Would you mind explaining that statement to this inferior brain please.

@AV... So you ARE saying that someone could have never heard or uttered the words of the Bible or Jesus or any of it... but through observation in nature can open the gates to heaven by accepting God?

Poor explanation, people see wonders all the time, they think it's their God and not yours.

The Christian God is unknown where people live untouched by Christians.

Would you say this is a fair statement?

I can't believe I never get a straight answer.

Let me simplify my OP.

Does God have the power to teach about himself and the Book etc, WITHOUT humans spreading the word for him?

If so. How? How do uneducated people learn about God if they never speak to anyone about God?

God has the power, technically, to "beam" the knowledge directly into the minds of every person who has ever and will ever exist with ease. God just doesn't. Doesn't use that power, or doesn't exist, one of the two.

Ok. So either way, whether he can or can't, the people who have never heard of him will perish.

Why can't a Creationist say that? It's not like we don't already know God isn't very nice.

I'm not going to repeat myself over and over, Ned.

I believe I've given you enough information that ... if you're truly seeking an answer ... will have it.

So you agree, people who don't know due to lack of contact, will go to hell.
And this is simply because God chooses not to tell them.

Especially not in the Old Testament. Quite frankly, why did god have to get people to kill people? He could have just made all the people he wanted dead have heart attacks. In fact, that would have been a lot less violent and would have been way more effective. or, crazy thought, make those people change their behavior. no one dies or defies god then.

Making people kill other people teaches them "lessons".
