I believe there are lessons to be learnt in the 'school of hard knocks'

12 And I want you to know, my dear brothers and sisters, that everything that has happened to me here has helped to spread the Good News. 13 For everyone here, including the whole palace guard, knows that I am in chains because of Christ. 14 And because of my imprisonment, most of the believers here have gained confidence and boldly speak God’s message without fear.

Dear young Joseph in the Old Testament certainly knew how to overcome evil with good. Betrayed by his brothers and sold into Egypt. Falsely accused by Potiphar's wife and thrown into prison and yet he became a trusted ruler because of his integrity. Those who meant him harm could not prevent God's blessing upon his life.

The nation of Israel must be a wonderful example of God's Providence...
The Lord said through Jeremiah:
For I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal...because they have called you an outcast: 'It is Zion, for whom no one cares!' Jeremiah 30:17

So many nations have appeared, become great and then disappeared, but the Jewish nation, God's own people, although they have been hated by so many, the hand of God has made Israel a strong nation. After all they have suffered, it is amazing, to see, regaining their sovereignty and statehood.

So good to know that in all our trials,God is working His purposes out in our lives!

God comforts us to comfort others!

'Dear friends,don't be bewildered or surprised when you go through the fiery trials ahead,for this is no strange,unusal thing. Instead be really glad,because these trials will make you partners with Christ in His suffering and afterward you will have the wonderful joy of sharing His glory in that coming day when it will be displayed ' (1 Peter 4:12-14)

On the eve of Remembrance Sunday and Veteran's Day we remember all who have given their lives to maintain our freedom. 'Greater love has no man than this that he lay down his life for his friends!

Job it seemed had everything taken away from him. He was being tested but trusted in God and prayed for his friends and ended up with a better quality of life than he had before!

His brothers treated Joseph in a disgusting way,but God changed what was meant as harm to good and He can do the same for you!

He leads us through every stage of life,through every circumstance by His Holy Spirit and the Word of God. Whatever happens we trust in Him and He works it all together for good. How we thank Him for His presence,protection,power,purpose and peace!
