They black out the Eiffel tower in sympathy for the victims of the mass shootings in NZ.
A lovely statement if solidarity it would seem
..
Yet still nothing about the slaughter of christian villages in Nigeria...

Because why?
They are just poor christians in africa ... Who cares.
The mix of hypocrisy and veiled bias is imo sickening

There not doing it for the 130 Muslims that were slaughtered and villages destroyed by Christians in Nigeria in the past few weeks either.

Seems they are ignoring the suffering of both Christians and Muslims in Nigeria, so there's no double standard as far as I can see.

France has a significant number of Muslims, and has suffered from Islamic terrorist attacks over the years. It seems to me they are trying to head off potential problems with terror.

Additionally, 10% of NZ's population in 1914 served in France during the First World War and suffered 40K (+) casualties including 16K killed in action. France is pretty good about remembering those who suffered for the freedom of France.I

As far as Nigeria goes...

It probably has more to do with French seeing themselves as similar to New Zealanders. The Nigerians, on the other hand, might as well be from another planet. So, superficial show of solidarity for New Zealand. But none for those darkies in the Global South.

Sad truth is life in first world countries have more value it seems, in peoples minds is worth more an american than an african.

I don't know if this is in their subconsience or what, but i find it very unjust.

Africa is a world apart in many ways. A lot goes on there that the rest of the world just doesn't take notice of.
To be honest, deaths in an area wracked by tribal warfare just don't seem as shocking and tragic as a massacre in a peaceful part of the world where these things literally never happen.
I'm disturbed that the reaction of a lot of Christians to the massacre in New Zealand is a seemingly defensive "whatabout?"

What it comes down to is while we all live on one planet, there are two distinctly different worlds; the Minority World (people living in western and other developed countries) and the Majority World (Everyone else). Things like mass slaughters of people, bombings, conflict, and extreme corruption are common in the Majority World, but not so much the Minority World. When a mosque or a church is attacked in the Minority World it makes headlines because it's a rare occurrence, not so much when it happens in the Majority World. Unfortunately many people in the Minority World are clueless when it comes to what goes on in the Majority World on a regular basis and what life is like for those who live there. They would be shocked to learn that the slaughtering of Christians, Muslims, and other people groups like what took place recently in new Zealand is just another day and an accepted way of life in some countries.

If the Eiffel Tower went dark every time a group of Christians or Muslims were slaughtered somewhere in the world, it would probably remain backed out nearly every day of the year.

yes it is isnt it ...
mine to .
not saying it is right - but the media is so very hypocritical- nothing new there .

but i believe there is a huge spiritual shift of deception going on and it is in the false unity movement .. first the uniting of christians denominations ..but - under the rcc ? which is impossible for any true christian to unify with the practicing if idolatry
then there is the shift of the uniting of religions .. also under and spear headed by the rcc .

its not an obvious surface thing so much . but many believers can sense its going on and don't know how to define it and respond to it .
its an underlying thing .. an intrigue .
