  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Let's encourage and remind eachother to treat our spouses. Use this thread a once a week or more as a reminder to do something out of your way to please your spouse. We can encourage eachother to be more actively loving husbands/wives and get some good ideas from eachother too!

Tonight, I'm committing to giving my hubby one of those long, deep back massages. He just about becomes a pile of mush when I really rub his back. It takes a lot out of me because really likes a strong massage. But I'm aiming to do tonight regardless.

And dear moderator - can you make this post a sticky please? (I don't see how to do that).

It's lovely how giving works. :) You know, my husband actually purrs? I didn't even know that. He came home soaked with mud and icy water, so I put him in the bath and actually scrubbed him down. While I was at it, I used the soap as a lubricant and gave him a deep massage to help with the soreness. It was so nice to see him feeling so much better afterward. After having bathed a little one for the past three years, it was refreshing to switch to someone my own size. *chuckles*

Okay this week I am endeavoring to make some cookies he'll really like. Personally, ginger-anythings are not my fave but that aside I'm gonna make em. Will let you know how it goes.

Oh I gave him back rub. When I was done, he turned around all blinky-eyed and said all bewildered "what I do to deserve that?" :D

Our hot water and heating has stopped working :( , but we do have an electric shower, so I'm going to use the electric shower head to fill the bath with hot water and have a bath ready for when he gets back from work, and have his tea cooked for when he gets out of the bath.

What a nice idea for a post!

This made me think about serving my husband. I do a lot on a daily basis to serve him because I feel like that's my job - child of God, wife, mom. My job is to serve. So for him that means making his lunch for the next day, getting the coffee pot ready, keeping the house clean, laundry, cooking dinner, etc. But I think we can get caught up in daily responsibilities and sort of skip over the extras.

I'm going to give this some thought and see what I can do for my sweetie today...

Thanks GirlieGirl!

My husband has a great love for pork chitterlings (also known as chit'lins, aka pig intestines) and I hate to cook them. You have to clean them and they stink to high heaven. This weekend for Valentine's day I'm gonna cook them along with some fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and cornbread. He is soooo excited.

Well I admit total failure on the getting up early idea. :sigh: It did not happen at all. Not even close on the weekend. I thought for sure I would wake up first but he beat me by one hour on Sat and Two today! Aycheewowzahs!

Anyhow I'm baking him a Valentine's cherry pie tonight. (He loves cherry pie) and I found him a cute dvd as his gift (even though he said he didn't want anything, I hav a feeling this will make him smile).

I think doing stuff for V day still counts as being my weekly treat for him, right?
