CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey all my name is James and Im new to this site and new to the Christian life. I was saved on 20 May soo alot of things are new to me. I hope to spend some time on this board and meet some cool people and learn things.

I'd recommend checking out the new Christians board while you are here if you havn't already.
If you have any questions about living life as a Christian, there are a lot of people here that I'm sure would help you.
Personally though if your getting that info online then get it from mulitple sources. If not then go through your church or a trusted Christian friend.

Since I've done this in pretty much every other forum I might as well do it here... My name's David and I'm 21 and fresh out of college... Life has been crazy, but in a good way... along the way I've overdosed on Flintstone Vitamins as a baby... (got into the medicine cabinet and ate 23 while mom was picking up some stuff for me) my dog is the only dog I know of that has committed suicide (don't worry it's funnier than it sounds) and I've crashed my car in consecutive days...
But like I said, things are great! I am a child of God with lots to learn but I know I am blessed and I'm glad to be here!
If anyone wants to know any of those wacky stories just PM me or I can answer any questions in this thread.

has anyone noticed that the Christian Forum is comprised mostly (though not totally) of women? I'm new - and that's just something I've noticed.
I'm guessing women like to do this type of thing a little more than men do. I could be wrong though.
