i am new to christianity, having been raised by secular parents and i really want to go the creation museum in kentucky with my friend. we're driving to north carolina because i have a few days off school and that's where her family lives. But we can't afford the $22 tickets. Does anyone know if anyone ever sponsors people to get in there. The creation stuff is a big point of contention in my family and i feel like being at the museum would really help me feel like i'm not alone and that there is really something to all of this.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I see that group rates go down as low as 16.95 each for 15+ people. And educational groups would likely be lower.

I am unsure about what doesn't make sense. Through years of science, it is believed that the earth is roughly around 4.6 million years old. This assumption was gathered from a theory.
Without being so vague, do tell me why you do believe the world is 4.6 million years old. Is it because you don't believe the in the inerrancy of scripture?
I do love hearing other people's views on beginning of time.

"Assumptions" aren't gathered from "theories". What are you talking about? The fact that the Earth is billions of years old isn't an assumption in any case, it is supported with physical evidence.
The Earth is 4.54 billion years old. Not millions.

I must say this is quite amusing. I apologize for my error. I am guessing you looked that one up. From what I recall from my oceanography class, my professor did say 4.6.
And it is an assumption. We assume that the theory is fact.
Explain to me how you think macroevolution can fit in with the bible.

There're obviously many viewpoints on the first chapter about what it really means. As an engineer with an education in philosophy as well I can say your view will continue to develop as there are rich sources of information on both the Biblical-interpretive side as well as the science / observational side. YEC is not the only method of dealing with all this information, and it has some clear issues with scientific observation and method.
On the other hand, the scientific community has often ignored factors that impact their work for the sake of presenting a unified front against all creationism. To me all this does is make science a religion -- something you may be discovering has occupied members of your family.
To be credible to both sides, a lot of thinking and a lot of recognition that there isn't a complete solution to all the issues has to be concluded. If they think science is a complete solution, they're sorely mistaken. If we think YEC is a complete solution, we're sorely mistaken. There are profound inconsistencies on both sides. But proof by "last one standing" leaves none standing.

While the museum has a dogmatic bias, they also have valid archaeological artifacts, and PhD research scientists providing supporting information.
A museum isn't meant to be like a sports team that gathers fans -- it is a place to observe and learn, compare and also question. Visitors don't go there to join a sect -- they go to appreciate what has been gathered and categorized.
