  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have declared war on the devil as of today 14/10/09. I shall meditate to philippians 4:13 and break my vicious cycle of sin in the name of Jesus Christ. I had enough of all the defeats I had against the devil who is mocking and laughing at me from time to time. Today is the day when I shall step out of my comfort zone by hook or by crook and do things according to God's word.

My brethens and sisters please pray for me to not only win this battle like how Jesus already did, but also to maintain it.

This video represents my current mood. YouTube - Battle Cry Hope to share with christians out there who had long given up on themselves. This is the time to fight again. To show the devil that we deserve to be who God wants us to be. Not one who is a slave to him of this world!!!!!!

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!!

You have my prayers.

I've used this analogy in sermons several times: I hate peas. I absolutely hate them. There is NOTHING anyone can do to a pea to make it appealing to me. I hate the texture, I hate the taste, I hate the after-taste, I hate the way they stick in my mouth - I hate everything about them. You cannot fix peas in any way - there's no amount of salt, pepper or dressing that makes them taste good to me; there's no amount of covering up of peas a person could do to make me like them or not notice them in a dish. There's no hiding them in anything that I won't taste them and hate them.

They are so completely disgusting to me that no matter how they are packaged I'm still not going to like them. I'm fairly certain that God put them on earth after The Fall as punishment to mankind. [<--that was a joke]

With sin of any kind we must come to the same point, and usually we have to ask the Lord to help us get there because we simply don't understand the full impact of our sins - especially if they're ones we don't think matter, or if we think they're not hurting anyone else.

If we truly want to see how our pet sins affect us and others, and we ask the Lord to let us see, He will. It's not a pleasant process - I know, and it's one that if we are truly willing to grow, will continue our entire lives. As we are changed from Glory to Glory, the Holy Spirit reveals the dross in our flesh - usually that we never knew was there!

Chin up, Soldier! We're all in this together. I'll pray for you, and you pray for me, too - k?

What a great attitude! I agree with you.

And remember, greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.

Hi Ivan, we are all with you mate, and the Battle is in your and our Messiah's hands.

Be strong, sober and vigilant; submitting and drawing near to HIM.

Cleanse your hands and purify your heart, and when all this done then we can resist Satan.

Take heed and stand, your Handbook of Spiritual Warfare is found in Galatians Ephesians.

Your "Fix IT" Handbook is in James.

See if you can find some good books written by Spiritual Warriors on the battle that you have taken on. You do need someone who you can share with and to fall back upon when the going gets tough.

Keep covering yourself in HIS BLOOD and keep fighting a good fight of faith.

Try hard to major in the Fruit of the Spirit.

Be Kind, Be Good, Be gentle, Be faithful, Be patient and Be self-controlled.

All of these will lead to freedom, and anger and bitterness will not prevail.

Don't let the sun set on anger. If you have a bad day and you feel anger or bitterness toward another person and even yourself, then confess it and repent it straight away, and make sure that you have done it all before going to be at night.:)

I declared war on satan about 4 months ago. It is an awesome feeling, to be sick of being sick of it all. There may be many battles in war against him, and it may continue till you go to see the Lord. When you have defeated him on your own homefront, you will and are most likely now, going to stand in the gap for others. Praise God for what He will do.

Gee Ivan, sorry we didn't indicate that we are praying for you and we weren't detailed and sincere.

I am sorry that I gave you advice, please forgive me

If that is all you wanted was prayer and nothing else, then I guess those who had posted didn't realise that.

Sorry, that we are not detailed and sincere.:)

Hi John1032, I don't know is it I think too much but I just feel that you have misinterpreted me. The names of those brothers and sisters whom I did not mentioned here doesn't mean that I dont feel that they are detailed and sincere. The reason why I specifically mentioned him is because I can see that he understands my situation best I suppose and I truly appreciate for all the prayers and advice you all have for me. Sorry if I offended anyone by not mentioning their names and such. I truly do appreciate..:groupray:

If you really want to engage in spiritual battle, Phillippians 4:13 isn't where you need to meditate.

Rather study and pray in accordance with Ephesians 6:10-20 where such a battle is outlined in detail.

Yes! I need this. Thanks! You see I didn't read bible that often. I pray that I will get more hunger for God's words. This is truly lacking in me. All my knowledge came from bits and crisp from christians around me.

Please send the peas and pumpkins my way. ;)

As for the devil, don't forget you're dealing with a defeated foe. He's a liar and a deceiver. But you have been given authority over him.

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Colossians 2:15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

I understand in the days this was written when an enemy was defeated he was dragged through town and a public spectacle was made of him. This is what Jesus did to our enemy in the pit of hell. He brought humiliation upon him in front of his cohorts as He won victoriously over him. He has conferred that victory to you and I. However, though it is reason to rejoice, our greatest reason to rejoice is that our names our written in the Lamb's Book of Life.
