  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Though no doubt Love is the greatest of all there is more to being a christian than Love only. there is Faith and obidence to Gods word to name just a few.
Have you read Ephesians ?? and if so does it not say we are to stand against evil world powers, principalities, spiritual wickedness in high places ??
Here i will answer that yes that is what it says clearly.
Is not a religion that clearly teaches and promotes to kill non-believers clearly an evil power??
Here i will answer that as well. Yes
Does the Quran clearly teach to behead - kill those who do not follow islam ??
Here i will answer that. Yes
Does the Bible promote killing of non-believers by its followers ??
I will answer this as well. No
Would it not be blasphamey to defend--stand up for that which is anti--christ--against Christ that which is Gods enemy??
Is it obidence to God to follow Gods word and stand against the powers of anti-christ--against-christ teachings??
These you can answer.

One can point out all the otrocities that man has done to man be it in Irelend or this church or that but the point is they the people involved did not learn the violence or were they incouraged to be violent by the Bible and yet they were violent and yet they persecuted.
Now only imagine what man is and can be capable of when what they follow [the Quran] incourages and rewards violence. within man can be great evil the Bible can and does curb that evil found within man. man does not need incouragement such as the quran to promote violence in the name of their god. It should scare you to death to think what man is capable of when the seed of violence is watered such as the Quran does. As you have clearly pointed out man has a tendecy towards violence even when the teachings of God teach against it. Imagine when the teaching promote it. the book of Rev. pretty well describes the out come rather vividly.

The Catholic Church has tortured and burned people alive at the stake. You want to tell me they were not Christians? In Ireland, Catholics and Protestants commit great acts of terrorism and violence, they were not Christians either?
I beg to differ. The ignorance is not mine. The Law of God is "Love thine enemy". Ishmael was made a great nation because God willed it. Who are you to judge the actions and will of God? Are you saying that God made evil? That sounds like blasphemy to me. The point I was trying to make, without incorporating politics, was that we are all brothers. Judaism and Islam both come from the same source, Abraham. Jesus taught us not an eye for an eye, but forgive seven times seventy. If we claim to be Christians, then we must follow God's Law. If we do not, then perhaps my vision is a warning. That is becoming more and more clear to me every time I log in.
I will pray for all of us, that God not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. The temptation to commit acts of revenge when we should forgive.
I will tell you something perhaps you have never thought of. Being Christian means becoming part of God's love in this life, so that we can be a part of it in the next. Love is the only thing you can take with you from this life. Give the glory of it to God. Don't waste your time in endless cycles of revenge, in the end, they will mean nothing. Learn to love. I will pray that you receive understanding.
God tells us to forgive "people", not religions. God tells us to love "people", not religions. At what point are you going to realize that we are not saying a single thing in or out of judgement about a "people". We are speaking against TEACHINGS that claims that Jesus is NOT the Son of God and did NOT die for us on the cross.

Teachings that claim far more than that...but really...do we even need to go any further than that?

CountedWise, I can see where your heart is in this, and I see that you are ministering “love” as the key denotation of what Christians ought to be. And to a point I agree with you.

Then I look to how Jesus reacted to the religious leaders of His day, Jesus loved them in His rebuke towards them. But He still rebuked them, and named them to be evil workers of the Satan. There are curses placed against them by Jesus, not blessings.

Now, who were the religious leaders of those days, and who did they claim to represent? Now, would you say that self righteousness and religious practices did not make those rulers cursed? Don’t you see the same characteristics in the dark ages church and modern Ireland churches? People’s hearts are swayed away from God because of religion, all religion. Their practices can destroy the souls of man. We do not “turn the other cheek” for those who are destroying souls.

This is what we are to fight / war against. If Martin Luther did not fight against the church and its practices, we may still very well be in the dark ages. If we do not fight against the demonic cult whose name is Islam, we might return to the dark ages.

Please don't take this like I'm just trying to rub my point in...but I want to demonstrate just exactly how much Christianity and Islam do NOT have in common.

This will also illustrate the point we were trying to make how Christianity has a basis of divine principle to go to in order to condemn those who have commited atrocities in Christ's name while Islam does not.

You have to understand the difference between those that "claim" to be Christian and those who are true Christians. Many "claim" to be such, but do they "really" walk with Christ in their life and commit these atrocities?

Jesus and Mohammed spoke on the same principles many times. Here are some comparisons of their teachings on equal principles....Jesus' words from the Bible and Mohammed's as quoted from the Qur'an and Hadith.

1. Jesus: (Matthew 5:44) "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you ."

Muhammed: (Qur'an 8:60) "Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into the hearts of your enemies, and OTHERS BESIDES, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know."

2. Jesus: (Matthew 5:39) "...if anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also..."

Muhammed: (Qur'an 9:13) "Will ye not fight a folk who broke their solemn pledges, and purposed to drive out the messenger and did attack you first?"

3. Jesus: (Matthew 5:11) "Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven."

Muhammed: (Qur'an 2:191) "And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter."

4. Jesus: (Matthew 5:21-22) "You have heard that it was said to the men of old, 'You shall not kill; and whoever kills shall be liable to judgment. But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother shall be liable to the council, and whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be liable to the hell of fire."

Muhammed (Qur'an 47:4) "Therefore, when ye meet the unbelievers in fight, smite at their necks; at length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly on them: thereafter is the time for either generosity or ransom, until the war lays down its burdens....But those who are slain in the Way of Allah, He will never let their deeds be lost."

5. Jesus (Mark 10:18) "No one is good but God alone"

Muhammed (Qur'an 5:64) "The Jews say: 'Allah's hand is chained.' May their hands be chained! May they be cursed for what they say! By no means. His hands are both outstretched: He bestows as He will."

(You see, Islam teaches that God, Allah, is NOT good. They say that to call Allah good is to "chain His hands", in other words by being "good" God is limited)

6. Jesus (John 3:16) "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."

Muhammed (Qur'an) 9:111 "Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs in return is the garden of Paradise: they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth..."

7. Jesus (Matthew 26:52) "All who take the sword will perish by the sword."

Muhammed "Know that Paradise is under the shades of swords (Jihad in Allah's cause).

8. Jesus (Matthew 5:7, 46-7) "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy....For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you salute only your brethren, what more are you doing than others?"

Muhammed (Qur'an 48:29) "Muhammad is Allah's Apostle. Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to on another."

Muhammed claims that the "Allah" they serve is the same as the God of the Jews and Christians. Yet He whom we know to be the Son of God spoke the first words in each comparison which in turn were put into our Bible. Muhammed, the Prophet of Islam, Allah's favored son, spoke the second set of words in each section which were placed in the Islam holy books the Qur'an and Hadith. They completely contradict. Therefore if one set is truth then the second is lies! I, for my part, choose the words of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, the Son of God. Muhammed spoke lies, the Qur'an contains absolutely nothing but Muhammed's words, the religion of Islam is based on the words of the Qur'an...therefore the Religion of Islam is based on lies.

More comparisons:

1. Jesus- (Matthew 5:8-10) "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Mohammed- "Allah assigns for a person who participates in (holy battles) in Allah's Cause and nothing causes him to do so except belief in Allah and His Messengers, that he will be recompensed by Allah either with a reward, or booty (if he survives) or will be admitted to Paradise (if he is killed in the battle as a martyr)"

2. Jesus- (John 16:2) "The hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God."

Mohammed- (Qur'an 9:29) "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been fobidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, even if they are of the People of the Book [Jews and Christians], until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."

3. Jesus- (Mark 13:13) "And you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved."

Mohammed- (Qur'an 60:4) "There is for you an excellent example to follow in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people: 'We are clear of you and of whatever ye worship besides Allah: we have rejected you, and there has arisen, between us and you, enmity and hatred for ever, unless ye believe in Allah and Him alone.'"

4. Jesus- (Luke 22: 49-51) "And when those who were about him saw what would follow, they said, 'Lord, shall we strike with the sword?' And one of them struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his right ear. But Jesus said, 'No more of this!' And he touched his ear and healed him."

Mohammed- "Narrated Abu Qilaba: Anas, said, 'Some people of 'Ukl or 'Uraina tribe came to Medina and its climate did not suit them. After they became healthy, they killed the shepherd of the Prophet and drove away all the camels. The news reached the Prophet early in the morning and he sent (men) in their pursuit and they were captured and brought at noon. He then ordered to cut their hands and feet (and it was don), and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron. They were put in Al-Harra and when they asked for water, no water was given to them.' Abu Quilaba added, 'Those people commited theft, murder, became infidels after embracing Islam and fought against Allah and His Messenger."

4. Jesus- (John 18: 36) "My kingship is not of this world; if my kingship were of this world, my servants would fight."

Muhammed- "I have been ordered (by Allah) to fight against the people until they testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammed is the Messenger of Allah."

5. Jesus- (Luke 6: 35) "But love your enemies and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for he is kind to the ungrateful and the selfish."

Muhammed- (Qur'an 3: 28) "Let not the believers take for friends or helpers unbelievers rather than believers. If any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah; except by way of precaution, that ye may guard yourselves from them."

5. Jesus- (Matthew 10:14) "And if any one will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet as you leave that house or town."

Muhammed- "Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him."

6. Jesus- (Matthew 7:12) "So whatever you wish that men would do to you, do so to them; for this is the law and the prophets."

Muhammed- "None of you will have faith till he likes for his (Muslim) brother what he likes for himself."
(The Islam golden rule is purely reserved for Islams to extend to Islams)

7. Jesus- (Luke 9: 52-55) "And he sent messengers ahead of him, who went and entered a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him; but the people would not receive him, because his face was set toward Jerusalem. And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, "Lord, do you want us to bid fire come down from heaven and consume them?' But he turned and rebuked them."

Muhammed- (Qur'an 111: 1-5) "Narrated Ibn Abbas: When the Verse: 'And warn your tribe (O Muhammed) of near-kindred (and your chosen group from among them)' [Qur'an 26 : 214] was revealed, Allah's Messenger went out, and when he had ascended As-Safa mountain, he shouted, 'Ya Sabahah!' The people said, 'Who is that?' Then they gathered around him, whereupon he said, 'Do you see? If I inform you that cavalrymen are proceeding up the side of this mountain, will you believe me?' They said, 'We have never heard you telling a lie.' Then he said, 'I am a plain warner to you of a coming severe punishment.' Abu Lahab said, 'May you perish! You gathered us only for this reason?' Then Abu Lahab went away. So the Surat Al-Masad: 'Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab!' was revealed. Surat Al-Masad is the Qur'an's 111th sura: "May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! Nothing shall his wealth and gains avail him. He shall be burnt in a flaming fire, and his wife, laden with (sticks..[won't let me use the exact word]), shall have a rope of fibre around her neck!"

8. Jesus- (John 7:53-8:11) "Then the scribes and Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery and made her stand in the middle. They said to Him, 'Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of committing adultery. Now in the law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?' They said this to test Him, so that they could have some charge to bring against Him. Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with His finger. But when they continued asking Him, He straightened up and said to them, 'Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.' Again He bent down and wrote on the ground. And in response, they went away one by one, beginning the the elders. So He was left alone with the woman before Him. Then Jesus straightened up and said to her, 'Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?' She replied, 'No one, sir.' Then Jesus said, 'Neither do I condemn you. Go, and from now on do not sin any more.'"

Muhammed- "There came to him (the Holy Prophet) a woman from Ghamid and said: Allah's Messenger, I have committed adultery, so purify me. He (the Holy Prophet) turned her away. On the following day she said: Allah's Messenger, Why do you turn me away?....By Allah, I have become pregnant. He said: Well, if you insist upon it, then go away until you give birth to the child. When she was delivered she came with the child wrapped in a rag and said: Here is the child whom I have given birth to. He said: Go away and suckle him until you wean him. When she had weaned him, she came to him...She said: Allah's Apostle, here is he as I have weaned him and he eats food. He (the Holy Prophet) entrusted the child to one of the Muslims and then pronounced punishment. And she was put in a ditch up to her chest and he commanded people and they stoned her. Khalid bin Walid came forward with a stone which he flung at her head and there spurted blood on the face of Khalid and so he abused her. Allah's Apostle heard his (Khalid's) curse that he had hurled upon her. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Khalid, be gentle. By Him in Whose Hand is my life, she has made such a repentance that even if a wrongful tax-collector were to repent, he would have been forgiven. Then giving command regarding her, he prayed over her and she was buried."
