  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Back in 1984 I had a vision. It's not my first, but it seems relevant to talk about it now. I saw that NYC was burning and the smoke went up to the north. I had almost forgotten about it until 911.
I had another one a few weeks ago, not sure what to make of it. The US as Gog would be attacked again and this time they would be successful. In the Heartland, by men who would come from/through Mexico. The US would be crippled economically and begin to sell regions of the country. From this arrangement would emerge a global economic summit to govern finances.

Several years ago, about 15 I think, I had a dream that I was riding in a black horse-drawn carriage. Across from me sat a woman weeping in a black dress with a vail over her face. Between us was a small coffin. I told my wife about it because I thought it was about one of my children. One month later my brothers wife had a miscarriage. My brother is an atheist and a freemason. He still hates me. So do most freemasons.
Make of it what you will, but I'm not interested in discussing it further.
But just so you know, Abraham had a firstborn son named Ishmael, brother to Isaac. God promised Abraham that he would make of him a great nation. From Ishmael are descended the Arab nations, and Islam. Christians and Muslims have more in common than you might think. Don't be too quick to judge.
Remember that Christianity is a way of life, not a place to go.

Here are more examples of simularities.
Islam follows a False Prophet
Christianity Follows the Son of God.

Islam follows the guidence of the Quran which was inspired by satan.
Christianity follows the Word of God.

Islam promotes violence, death and intolerance to non believers.
Christianity promotes Love for all.

Islam and the qurans teachings guides its followers to behead Christians.
Christianity and the Bible warn of the beast, false prophet islam and tells christians to stand in truth against the powers of such false teaching such as islam. and to pray for and Love the individuals who are guided to kill and persecute us.

Islam is the beast spoken of in Rev. and muhammad is the false prophet.
Christianity is of God and the Son.

Following islam will lead you to death, hell and the grave.
Following christianity will lead you to eternal life in heaven.

Islam teaches to spread fear by making threats.
Christianity teaches peace of mind through Faith.

Islam teaches you to hate me for speaking the Truth.
Christianity guides me to speak the Truth and pray for you!!

I would agree the simularity is very much simular. Much as the moon and the sun are simular, as much as satan and God are simular, as much as Jesus the Son of God and muhammad the false prophet are simular. as much as heaven and hell are simular, as much as darkness and light are simular !!

Why is it that so many come out to defend Islam who obviously know nothing about the religion?

The same section of verses about Abraham and Ishmael also say that God's blessing is upon Isaac, not Ishmael. It is Isaac's lineage from which Christ is born AND a great nation has arisen. It also says that Ishmael will be a wild man, that his hand will be against every man and every man against him.

How can you say that there is any agreement between Islam and Christianity when the base doctrine (the Qur'an) can't even agree with itself?

The Qur'an itself claims to be rooted from the Torah, Psalms, and Gospels. Then it turns around and claims the Torah, Psalms, and Gospels to be false and corrupted.

The Qur'an claims that Judas, not Jesus was crucified on the cross. That they looked so much alike even Jesus' own mother didn't know them apart when he was on the cross. Then Islam turns around and says that Jesus cried out, "Allah, Allah lama sabachthani" while hanging on the cross.

Islam claims that the Catholic practice of honoring an image of Mary is heresy. At the same time Islam from its conception had kept a statue of Mary in the Kabah to which they bowed.

The Qur'an claims that Mary was actually the sister of Abraham and that we have it wrong. The Qur'an then claims that same Mary as the mother of Jesus over 1500 years later.

The Qur'an, Mohammed's command, says to pray to al-Lat, al-Uzza, and Manat...the three daughters of the pagan moon god, Hubal. The Qur'an then turns around multiple times and forbids worship to the three.

The Qur'an condemns idol worship. The Qur'an commands to worship the Manat....basically a large black iron meteorite.

The Qur'an condemns paganism....yet Islam maintains the crescent moon symbol of Hubal on the top of every minaret, all their flags, and nearly anything else "Islam". They also refer to their god as "Allah", a shortened version of "al-ilah", the common name used by pagans for Hubal.

Islam claims Allah does not make mistakes....yet Islam uses a process called "abrogation" to deal with mistakes in Allah's revelations to Mohammed.

I don't even want to begin with the discrepancies between Allah's laws for Islam and what was allowed by Allah for Mohammed to get away with. And I haven't even touched on how completely opposite Mohammed's teachings are to Christ's...though you can go to the "Setting the seal on Revelations" thread and read the words spoken by both on equal topics I have posted.

To compare Christianity and Islam as common is absurd.

Maybe there are so many contradictions in the Islam because Mohammed often forgot his own revelations   ?

LoL...
Lol, its a thought....but its actually easily explainable if you understand "abrogation" then look at what was taught early on then abrogated with what was taught later.

The early on teachings of Mohammed are actually the most peaceful and closest to being "Biblical". They are then "abrogated" out of the law by later revelations. Why would this be?

Look at it from the perspective of an evil spirit intending to form a false religion. You show up in the appearance of one of the most trusted angels from the Bible...Gabriel. Find a man, Mohammed, who has faced rejection, exile, is completely down on his luck and is driven with a need for vengeance....a vengeance which will require a devoted army.

You then tell this man that he is "chosen" by God....something that he is eager to accept after suffering so much rejection by men. You tell him he is to pass on messages to mankind and begin giving him messages that are already "familiar". You hand him laws to pass on to men that agree with the already existing religious laws. This way it is all familiar, comfortable, and easily acceptable by multitudes.

Then as time goes on and followers are gathered "situations" arise. Situations in which breaking the law is actually far more beneficial to the group than obeying it....so some do...including "the man", Mohammed. Mohammed, knowing the law, realizes his mistake in either commiting these violations or allowing them. He suddenly fears rejection by god and comes forward to repent. Perfect opportunity for the "spirit" to now twist things. You would tell the man..."hey, no big deal. You are the chosen, above the law. It doesn't apply to you."

There are MANY examples of this in the Qur'an.

And you would tell him, "this is Allah's religion. If its beneficial to the followers then it is so for the religion. And if its beneficial for the religion then its beneficial to Allah...right? So don't sweat it...sure the law says not to do this but how can it be wrong as long as it is benefiting Allah?" So now the law is changed. It now says do this "unless", or "except in the case of...". You begin to approve more and more "exceptions" to the law until suddenly the original law really doesn't apply to ANYTHING anymore.

By the time your work is done the original law is there in ink way back at the beginning of the Book of Law, but you have introduced so many "exceptions" to the law that none of the original hardly apply anymore.

Now new people checking out the religion are going to wonder at this and become skeptical. You don't want that so you introduce a fancy term and concept called "abrogation". This basically says that anything written later in time that seems to conflict a concept or law written previous to it supercedes the earlier law. Basically that "times have changed and hence the law has needed to as well."

NOW you have the perfect false religion. Enough truth at the beginning of it to suck in all those looking for "truth" and cause those who know no better to stand up and a defend a cause they know little about....only that somewhere in its law concepts are written that agree with what you already believe. (What you don't know is that these familiar concepts are all "abrogated", cancelled out). This is why you don't just have the original peaceful laws omitted...they still serve an important purpose for your intent.

This is the Qur'an and Islam in a nutshell.

Notice we don't abrogate the Bible. Why? Because after having been subject to numerous "authors" and over 1500 years of exposure the laws held within the Bible do not conflict ONCE.

The Qur'an holds words spoken by ONE man over less than a half-century and he manages to conflict his own law on numerous occasions.

Why do most non-Islams who defend the religion not note this? They've never read a Qur'an and don't know what they are talking about.

Why do many of the numerous Muslims not note this? In Islam the Qur'an and prayers can only be read and recited in Arabic. Most Muslims are NOT Arabic nor do they speak Arabic. Many Muslims have absolutely NO clue whatsoever what the Qur'an says!

Are you seriously going to tell me that Christian churches down through the ages have done none of these things?
If you were Christians at heart and not just religious bigots, you would follow the teachings of Christ and not judge others. Who are you that you can set yourself above anyone?
Christianity is about Love thine enemy, Love thy neighbor and above all, Love God!
But for you religious bigots who think they understand religion, Isaac would inherit God's promised covenant to Abraham.
However, Islam was began to follow the teachings of Abraham. But it has been as perverted as many churches who claim to be Christian have been perverted. Everything you claim to be a sin of Islam, has been a sin of the Church at some point. Pointing fingers is not what Christ came to teach us, or do you think Christ is too ignorant to understand religion?

Yes. I am afraid this war on the ideology of Islam will turn into a war against all abrahamic religions. It will get us fighting amongst ourselves as to destroy the abrahamic faiths. It may look, to the unreligious, that its Christianity vs. Islam which may result in the unreligious giving up hope for any religion. We need to set positive examples as Christians so we don't drive anyone who may be contemplating theism away.

At what point did any of us judge a "person"? Everything that was said is against the teachings and laws of a "religion". We can love, have compassion for, and hope for the salvation of Islamic "people" and STILL condemn the false teachings of their religion.

Islam teaches that Christ was NOT the Son of God and that he did NOT die on the cross for anyone's salvation. As a Christian...how can you NOT condemn that?

Yes those claiming to be Christians have done such things in "the name of God"...at what point did we say they didn't. There is a major difference which "some people" choose to ignore. True followers of Christ point to His Words and condemn and denounce those deeds. The Bible CLEARLY says that they were in the wrong by committing such acts.

Where is the Islamic condemnation of such deeds of Islam? It extremely, extremely sparse if ever. Why? Because they have no basis whatsoever for condemning them. Those who commit these deeds in the name of Islam are doing EXACTLY what the Qur'an tells them to do. There is no broken divine law on which to base their condemnations.

Before you start accusing others of bigotry and ignorance maybe you yourself should learn Arabic, pick up and read a Qur'an and see what it says for yourself. There is absolutely NOTHING I have written that is aimed at any "individual". There are only FACTS taken out of the Qur'an and as they are taught to Islamic people by Islamic Imams and scholars.

Islam does NOT follow the teachings of Abraham. It follows the teachings of Mohammed. The Qur'an is 100% Mohammed's words. If you read one you would know this. Mohammed lived about 2,000 years after Abraham and claims all previous record that would include any teachings of Abraham to be corrupted and false. Yes, Islams DO claim that. But if all records of Abraham's teachings is considered false, exactly HOW can Mohammed base HIS teachings off of Abraham's? They also claim that Mary the mother of Jesus is Abraham's sister. That is how accurate their version of Abraham's teachings are.

Those who are weak in their Faith and obidence to Gods Word would like to exclude the teaching of Ephesians out of their mind. Which Clearly states as deciples of Christ were are to STAND AGAINST the evil powers, against evil principalities and against the rulers of such evil powers.
But of coarse to do this one must have Faith and not Fear.
Man COMPROMISES with evil Powers not because of Love but because of Fear and a lack of Faith and a lack of OBIDENCE to ALL of Gods Word.
Islams teachings are AGAINST CHRIST.
Islams teachings promote killing and persecution of non believers of islam.
Islam promotes a False prophets teachings which are evil in there teachings.
Gods Word the Bible teaches Loveing your enemy, yes some have claimed to be christian and yet have killed and made war but it was not through the teachings of the Bible that they did so but by the wickedness of their own heart. Those of islam that kill and make war and persecute do so because the Quran and the words within teaches them to do so.
It is for this reason i and others as guided by Gods Word and through obidence have stood against the evil powers of a false prophet and a false religion that promotes death and war through its teachings.
And in doing so is an EXAMPLE to CHRISTIANS and NON CHRISTIANS of Standing in GODS TRUTH and being OBIDENT to GODS WORD and NOT COMPROMISING with evil powers to save our own neck. We are showing FAITH and no fear of anything or anyone but GOD and GOD ONLY. It is an example the LOST SEEK it is a LIGHT that can be seen in the DARK. IT is FAITH, IT is TRUTH, IT is OBIDENCE to ALL of GODS WORD not just the easy safe parts.
And above all it is LOVE.
Loveing our neighbors as well as the people of islam enough to put our life on the line to expose evil world powers.
As was our example shown by Christ there is no greater Love than the willingness to lay one life down to save another. WE do it daily and daily WE get PM stating they are going to cut off our heads and put them in bags for Standing in Truth , for being OBIDENT to Gods Word. Yet we continue and will continue because our fear of the Lord is greater than our fear of man.
SO WE STAND !!
IN LOVE and in FAITH and in OBIDENCE to ALL OF GODS WORDNOT just the easy parts.
WE will not COMPROMISE with SATAN and the powers that follow him.
CLEARLY WE SET THE EXAMPLE AS GOD INTENDED IT TO BE SET.
Had it been done earlier we today would not have to answer to God for the laws Abortion , Gambling, Prostitution, Same sex marriges to name a few of the things WE have allowed the growth of through COMPROMISING with evil world powers. THAT was a bad example to those lost.
We will answer for our lack of Standing on those issues if we reconize our sin and lack of obidence in those issues Christ will be forgiving. But we must not only reconize the damage of compromise but we must repent, change and learn and become obident and STAND AGAINST SUCH EVIL POWERS.

Thank you for this piece of information. It probably does explain what I wrote better, although this was what I was referring to (just looked it up):

The Qur'an Forgotten By The Prophet
The Hadith
Burkhari vol. VI, no. 558: Narrated Aisha: Allah's Apostle heard a man reciting the Qur'an at night, and said, "May Allah bestow His mercy on him, as he has reminded me of such and such verses of such and such Suras, which I was caused to forget.
Burkhari vol. VI, no. 562: Narrated Aisha: The Prophet heard a reciter reciting the Qur'an in the mosque one night. The Prophet said, "May Allah bestow his mercy on him, as he has reminded me of such and such verses of such and such Suras, which I missed."

Thank you for some of your explainations on Islam. They have really given me insight. Most of the knowledge I have on the religion is from my friends. Most are my friends are muslim, and for this reason conversations about Christianity/Islam are often started. But my knowlegde has not gotten very far, for whenever I ask my friends a more difficult question (something which actually shouldn't be difficult) they do not know how to answer due to insificiant knowledge.

I have considered reading the Qur'an in the past, but to be truely honest I am worried I might be influenced by the false doctrines. The Qur'an uses the same sort of terms for things centering it's 'god' as the Bible does. I am afraid I might start nodding in agreement somewhere along the way :( . But if I should feel ready and strong enough in discernment/faith, I will attempt to read it to gain better knowlegde on it's insights. Perhaps my friends will benefit from the Qur'an's 'truth'.

I do hope and pray that those who are entangled by it's lies may come to the realization that Jesus is the only Way.

God bless!

The problem with reading a Qur'an is that if you can't read Arabic you are not likely to get the same Qur'an as what is written in Arabic. Islam does not believe that its holy words should ever be spoken or written in any language but Arabic. Hence most Qur'ans that are translated into other languages are not direct translations of what is written. In the case of most translated Qur'ans they have even manipulated this excuse as an opportunity to water down and even exclude many of the more violent and questionable teachings in order to make it more appealing. This is a huge reason for the many misconceptions that most non-Arabs have of the religions teachings. There are, however, two English translations that are considered to be fairly accurate.

Hello CountedWise  ,

There have been men in the past who did horrific things all in the name of God, but they were not christians.
Actions often speak for themselves:

Titus 1:16
16They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.

But aside from this, those who follow a religion is a different matter than the religion itself. One can not say that the 'church' is a religion. So we cannot blame a religion for it's followers when they take actions which are not praised by the religion's teachings.

And as you have stated correctly, Christianity is a religion which praises Love, and teaches to Love your enemy.

But I must ask you now, who here has judged? Can you quote anything in this thread taht we may repent from? For example, if we have judged a fellow person falsely? For you made some pretty heavy accusations, so if you are correct in them than it would only be Christ-like to present arguments so that we may repent! Thankyou :) .

And one other thing, do you think it is possible, or that there is a difference in standing against false teachings without hating it's followers?

You see, the religion of Islam denies Christ. It even teaches that Jesus never died on the Cross, but that Judas was hung there instead. Islam teaches that Jesus is merely a prophet, and that He is even beneath Mohammed! Jesus is not a Saviour in Islam, and Islam does not teach He is the Way, and the Truth and the Life. Do you not think that it is a horrible thing what Islam is teaching about our beloved Saviour who gave His life even though we are so unworthy?
Do you not think it is horrible that there are so many millions who follow these false doctrines? These people have been decieved. Out of Love do christians need to pray, and allow the Truth to be told about Islam.
They have just as much right as us (even though we are unworthy) to know that Jesus is Lord and King, and that the only Way to be snatched from death His through His Blood.
Do you see a difference between this or do you believe that this is hate?

Thankyou,

and may God bless you richly with ever increasing revelations of our Lord.

Amen!!!

...and that's all that needed to be said.

The US is NOT GOG...

Gog
gog (âBb, goôgh; Ãïýã, Gouñg):
(1) A son of Joel, and descendant of the tribe of Reuben (1 Ch 5:4).
(2) The prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal (Ezek 38:2 f; 39:1-16). His
territory was known as the land of Magog, and he was the chief of those northern
hordes who were to make a final onslaught upon Israel while enjoying the
blessings of the Messianic age. He has been identified with Gagi, ruler of Sakhi,
mentioned by Ashurbanipal, but Professor Sayce thinks the Hebrew name
corresponds more closely to Gyges, the Lydian king, the Gugu of the cuneiform
inscriptions. According to Ezekiel’s account Gog’s army included in its numbers
Persia, Cush, Put, Gomer or the Cimmerians, and Togarmah, from the extreme
North. They are represented as a vast mixed horde from the far-off parts of the
North, the limits of the horizon, completely armed and equipped for war. They
were to come upon the mountains of Israel and cover the land like a cloud. Their
purpose is plunder, for the people of Israel are rich and dwell in towns and
villages without walls. His coming, which had been prophesied by the seers of
Israel, shall be accompanied by a theophany and great convulsions in Nature. A
panic shall seize the hosts of Gog, rain, hailstones, pestilence, fire and brimstone
shall consume them. Their bodies shall be food for the birds, their weapons shall
serve as firewood for seven years and their bones shall be buried east of the
Jordan in Hamon-gog and thus not defile the holy land. The fulfillment of this
strange prophecy can never be literal. In general it seems to refer to the last and
desperate attempts of a dying heathenism to overturn the true religion of
Yahweh, or make capital out of it, profiting by its great advantages.
(3) In Rev 20:7 Satan is let loose and goes to the four corners of the earth,
Gog and Magog, to muster his hosts for the final struggle against God. In Ezekiel
the invasion of Gog occurs during the Messianic age, while in Revelation it
occurs just at the close of the millennium. In Ezekiel, Gog and Magog are
gathered by Yahweh for their destruction; in Rev they are gathered by Satan. In
both cases the number is vast, the destruction is by supernatural means, and is
complete and final. See MAGOG.

The Catholic Church has tortured and burned people alive at the stake. You want to tell me they were not Christians? In Ireland, Catholics and Protestants commit great acts of terrorism and violence, they were not Christians either?
I beg to differ. The ignorance is not mine. The Law of God is "Love thine enemy". Ishmael was made a great nation because God willed it. Who are you to judge the actions and will of God? Are you saying that God made evil? That sounds like blasphemy to me. The point I was trying to make, without incorporating politics, was that we are all brothers. Judaism and Islam both come from the same source, Abraham. Jesus taught us not an eye for an eye, but forgive seven times seventy. If we claim to be Christians, then we must follow God's Law. If we do not, then perhaps my vision is a warning. That is becoming more and more clear to me every time I log in.
I will pray for all of us, that God not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. The temptation to commit acts of revenge when we should forgive.
I will tell you something perhaps you have never thought of. Being Christian means becoming part of God's love in this life, so that we can be a part of it in the next. Love is the only thing you can take with you from this life. Give the glory of it to God. Don't waste your time in endless cycles of revenge, in the end, they will mean nothing. Learn to love. I will pray that you receive understanding.
