  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

*Parks it on his throne* Ever noticed Beaches, that every throne is uncomfortable in movies? Straight back, little padding?

In real life I actually inherited a "Kings Chair" dining room set from Spain made about 200 years ago. The "Kings Chair" has arms, the Queens does not. The point being if I'm given a throne if it's not comfy I'll have it replaced- better yet, I'll have all court meetings done while standing up. "Get in, speak your peace, let me make a decision on how to help, get out"

When I was a Boeing Engineer and I'd be forced to go to meetings I'd intentionally ask the person holding the meeting to put the chairs out in the hallway. If they said "no" then I'd say "Fine- send me the precis's of the meeting, who I need to talk with and I'll work it from there- I have real work to do and not sit around drinking coffee and eating doughnuts- or worse, drawing free lunches from the cafeteria and calling it a "working lunch". While not known as a "team player" I was known as a no nonsense get the work done kind of guy.

There was one time at Boeing Camp,,,,,,never mind, ask me if you really want to know

All right- the Email follow up tracking system is online. Reviewing the old thread (39) Witness made post 1,000. I made the last post before "Chrisbot" did his little kinky thing. So I guess it is whoever it is...

I think it was whitebeaches. :)

Mom's wrong, Honey. Coffee is the 2nd most liquid drank in the world after water. Coffee is an acquired taste- I suggest lots of sugar and milk, personally- but the caffeine in it makes the choline and acetacoline between the nerve's fire faster and smoother so you think faster besides being a vascular constrictor. (Caffeine drinkers hands and feet are nominally more cold than others). In the United States along it is speculated 40 million people self medicate mild depression and other very mild mental illness's using coffee.

Also, if you ask a guy on a coffee date he'll know you're not interested romantically. Coffee dates is an automatic "friend zone" and "no FWB" zone too.

The joys of being a polymath, Mr. Esdra is you know a little bit about everything, and given time, you will become an expert in every thing- and since I'm from Seattle, THANKS STARBUCKS AND THE WIFE- I've been force fed far more data on coffee than anyone should ever experience.

I'm also heavily sedated as I'm passing a kidney stone which the pain is comparable to that of child birth. It also as a side effect makes me act as if I was drunk so if I write something inappropriate I ask forgiveness.

OK- I have to stop now. My brains gone into 8 to 12 different directions, I've lost track of where I'm at so I'm going to sleep.

I've been a firm believer in "paying it forward"- that is, doing something nice for other people and telling them to do something nice for someone else. A few minutes ago I received $300 worth of Geiger-Muller tubes for my CDV-700 radiation detectors from a guy who paid it forward to me! 10 tubes, at $30 each? For free? I feel bad- I only needed one or two and would have gladly paid for them!
