Close. But the estimates I've seen say that about 50% of gay people in the US are Christians. The number for the population as a whole is a bit over 60%. You could argue that gay Christians are likely underrepresented because Christians have more of an incentive to hide being gay, but I still wouldn't assume that the Christian population is identical to the population as a whole.Such a large group would follow rest of country in statistics. Nearly 250 million Christians in USA so it in reasonable to say over 10 million Christians are gay.
The sexual orientation numbers are complicated by the fact that many people aren't exclusively gay or straight. There is a spectrum with some leaning one way and some another, and some evenly balanced. That makes it hard to draw the line. 4.5% is reasonable if you include everyone whose orientation isn't traditional. This does not mean that 4.5% are exclusively gay.
