He might marry his boyfriend too. Would that make their marriage okay?I don't have a boyfriend.
I have a husband.
And why do you think what you do?
Pretty prejudiced of you, I'd say.
Intelligent persons are usually not prejudiced.
I hope you know what prejudiced means....
Everything that can't be proven is religion?
I can't argue good and evil and its existence.
It's like YOU arguing if an eclipse is real.
Good and evil exists throughout the universe.
I'm sure this is studied in philosophy.
If you think it doesn't exist, then for you is everything good? Or is everything evil/bad?
If one is not religious and gets sick...is this a good thing?
I can't remember good/evil being associated with religion when studying English (books).
It is not a peer reviewed article. It looks like an opinion piece and those are worthless in the world of science.
Immoral.Would you consider stoning unruly children moral, or immoral?
I don't believe SSM is OK.He might marry his boyfriend too. Would that make their marriage okay?
Faith is rational. No, not everything. But it pays to know when something is merely a religious belief and when something is a rational belief.
Which means that if the state issues a marriage license to a gay couple, it's no skin off your nose, right?I don't believe SSM is OK.
I don't think anybody should believe it's OK.
As to their living together...I could care less.
Marriage was not instituted by a government...
It's RELIGIOUS!....
It was instituted by God when He let us know that man needed a woman.
The government should not interfere with what God did...just like God should not interfere with what government does.
State and religion should be kept separate, right?
Due to my shocked response to some that don't think good and evil exist....I wrote that in Prof. Google's home address...this came up.No, not everything. But it pays to know when something is merely a religious belief and when something is a rational belief.
You do realize that you just contradicted yourself in several ways. First off marriage has always been a state institution. So when you say that religion and state should be kept separate that is a support for same sex marriage. Man and women were together for ages before marriage was invented.I don't believe SSM is OK.

Nope, if faith was rational there would be a rational defense for it. In fact "faith" is the opposite of rational. When one has a good reason for believing something he or she can explain why and how that they believe. They never use the word "faith". If someone tells me that a certain road is congested at rush hour and a different route would be better if I asked how he knew it was clogged he would not say "faith" was his reason for his belief.Faith is rational.
Good and evil/bad exist.
It's obvious to everyone that not everything is always good and not everything is always bad.
You have good days, you have bad days.
Good and bad....
How could it be denied?
I'm shocked, TTYTT.
That supports an evolved sense of right and wrong. It does not support the belief of an ultimate right and wrong. Those are two different things.Due to my shocked response to some that don't think good and evil exist....I wrote that in Prof. Google's home address...this came up.
I only post it because it shows that this subject is spoken about all the time.....How could anyone here, that is, it seems to me, intelligent - say otherwise?
Are We Fundamentally Good or Evil? Neuroscience Has an Answer
It's skin off all our noses.Which means that if the state issues a marriage license to a gay couple, it's no skin off your nose, right?
WHO gets to decide what's right and wrong? That supports an evolved sense of right ad wrong. It does not support the belief of an ultimate right and wrong. Those are two different things.
It is most likely a product of evolution. One thing that some people have a difficult time understanding is that "survival of the fittest" is a distortion of evolution. It is the "survival of the fittest population" if anything. So a trait that makes a population better able to survive will make the species stronger and more likely to survive. If one looks in nature the more complex a species is the more "moral" that species is. Each morality will be species specific so the morals of a wolf work well for their species as a whole, but they would not work for beavers as an example. So please do not try to make the error of comparing "morals" between species.WHO gets to decide what's right and wrong?
HOW did this evolved sense of right and wrong get into us? WHO put it there?
Same questions as 20 pages ago....
I previously said that it matters not to me if two guys want to live together...it's when marriage is changed from what it's supposed to be that it matters to me.You do realize that you just contradicted yourself in several ways. First off marriage has always been a state institution. So when you say that religion and state should be kept separate that is a support for same sex marriage. Man and women were together for ages before marriage was invented.
Also in your third line you stated that people living together matters to you. You need to read what you write and think of what it actually means. Do you see your error there? This "I could care less." does not mean what you think it means.
Immoral.
God said it.
It's murder.
The point is that civil marriage and the sacrament of holy matrimony are two different things. What you appear to want to do is usurp the authority of the state to license civil marriage. You and your particular religious sect do not own marriage and can't define it for anybody but your own members. It's skin off all our noses.
A problem of humanity is that we keep making the same mistakes and don't learn from history.
My point is that the state should keep out of the marriage business....It's the business of church, not the state.
But the state wants to get involved in everything IT deems to be necessary. Do we ever wonder why it's necessary for the state to be involved in every aspect of our lives?
Yes. I'm afraid of a totalitarian state and I fear we're headed that way.
It depends upon what it's based on.Since when?
