We were supposed to establish stricter rules to prevent certain behavior. As it stands, this hasn't happened, nor does it look like it is going to happen any time soon.

Moreover, what good will it do us to have stricter rules when the basic rules that we already have are proving to be worthless, as people continue to violate them?

It is obvious that a split should take place, because the tension is growing more and more in here between progressives and non-progressives.

Some may argue that this will prove to be a stain on our church. I disagree. It's not a split that will stain our church, or hurt our name. It is compromise that will ultimately hurt us, and lead people down the wrong path.

I say we split. What do you say?

Sorry, that struck my funny bone for some reason.

There is no such denomination as Progressive Adventist. There's just the original church, and those that disagree with the doctrine of it.

If this poll is like the others, only Adventists can vote. This one might be different though, but I don't see why it would be.

HowardDean, I'm curious though, do you think the constant debate is worse than having a split? Don't you think it conveys the wrong message?

I'm really just curious, I'm not trying to change your mind about anything.

Wouldn't it totally confuse you as someone coming in here to ask questions if you got two COMPLETELY different answers about what the Adventist church teaches?

This is merely an opinion. The fruit of this endeavor will determine whether it is true or not. That is, if a split takes place.

yes, i changed my mind. And no it did not have anything to do me loosing my nomination. I just don't see any way to peace right now. so I am willing to try something new. if it does not work then we can get back together. something has to change. we cannot go on fighting for ever

I'm not sure how this will play out.

But in my opinion this forum should continue to be called the SDA forum, and the forum that the progressives belong to should be identified as such. That is, Progressive SDA forum.
