If you fornicated in the past just repent of it, I dont understand why some professed christians think it was a great thing and even encourgae others to do so, the ones I know regret their past behaviour and wouldnt ever do it again. Some are dealing with the consequences of it in their own lives, it truly does make a mess of it...when christians who never fornicated have an easier time of it. I am quite alarmed when I read on these forums for example people saying how lust is a normal desire, It actually isnt! God showed me it wasnt!

If someone says within marriage you can be free to indulge in all sorts of sexual immorality simply cos you now married, well think again. If someone says within marriage you can continue to think like you a porn star I would go um Noooo. Being married means you belong to that ONE person and nobody else and also doesnt mean you can treat them degradingly or selfishly for your own gratification either.

The catholics I knew were the worst fornicators in their minds. Had this friend who was catholic and she and her friends (that were catholic) would gossip about people that were sleeping around in the church and workplaces, and then lust after pop idols!

The emotions are different. Romantic feelings usually are stronger (but not necessarily). That is probably a cultural thing since there seems to be a cultural expectation that a strong emotional bond MUST go into the romantic and/or sexual area. Other cultures tell us that is not the case.

They focus on too much externals: how people dress, disallowing normal friendships, even romantic relationships.

Demonizing all sexual thought, feeling or question until AFTER marriage. And if one slips up in any of those areas, a lot of shaming and condemnation.

They take God's good gift of sexuality and turn it into a curse.

And all the internal walls and methods of denying sexuality that are built up for years before someone gets married do not dissipate once you say "I Do." It can take years to get over it, or decades, or maybe never.
