100 years ago the US was a religiously diverse country, similar to today.

Sources? I really really doubt that was the case. Sorry for my skepticism, I simply can't fathom that being the case.

Read a history book. It is true many people were Christians, mostly Protestant, but there were substantial numbers of people, especially intellectuals, who were not.

So you prove my point that this was a christian nation. I never said other religions did not exist I said this was a christian nation. Meaning the majority were christian. But I am done with this topic with you as you are getting heated.

Majority Christian doesn't mean "Christian nation". The US has religious freedom and non-establishment of religion. It is illegal and unconstitutional to discriminate against people because of their religious beliefs or lack thereof.

I'm thinking nephilim.
nephilim are angels. Probably fallen angels. Or angels that fell in the act of cohabiting with man. That is how most commentators and scholars view that passage. Most literalists that is. Among covenant theology which is a more liberal mindset you have many who believe the nephilim were a cursed line of cain.

This republic is classified among the Christian nations of the world. It was so formally declared by the Supreme Court of the United States. In the case of Holy Trinity Church vs. United States, 143 U. S. 471, that court, after mentioning various circumstances, added, "these and many other matters which might be noticed, add a volume of unofficial declarations to the mass of organic utterances that this is a Christian nation."

source: the united states a christian nation by justice david brewer.

It did not mean that everyone was christian, but originally this country was looked at as among the christian nations of the world, the above book goes into 80 reasons why this nation was a christian nation legislatively at least until the bill of rights, and the separation of church and state happened which was later.
