That is truly sad that you have had this experience. I had always taken a benevolent bent on the fictional Fr. Vasily, picturing him at once ranting and also giggling inside knowing he was stretching the limits. To be with a priest who is overly rigid and self important would indeed be a real downer.

Yeah, I have always thought Fr. Vasily was hilarious. I still do, to a certain extent. It is just my image of him is a bit soured.
