Sir, it is not you that will be sorry, it will be Jesus. For when He tells someone to depart because He did not know them, there will be great sadness and tears for them in His eyes.
Let´s just hope he doesn´t fall into a clinical depression.
And: he should drink a lot so that his tear glands are capable of dealing with those billions of unbelievers.

So are we debating or making request?

I don't make requests.

And churches are open to anyone as well. Does that mean they are not Christian churches. My home is open to all my friends. It does not make it their home.

No, but it never amazes me how surprised some Christians are to see non-believers in the all members and debate section of a massive website with some 100,000 members.

Great, you finally made a good point :) Congratulations.

Yah that's called the will of the ppl being acted out by their elected officials. In short a republic.

Majority rule with minority rights is our country. One of those rights is to not be governed by someone elses religion. Laws in this nation have to be secular, or at least have a secular basis.

Banning gay marriage has no legitimate secular purpose, which is why it's violating their rights, which makes it a good example of how Christians arre legislating their beliefs on the rest of us.

I'm not being oppressed. Just flamed and whined at.

Well boo hoo. I get flamed too. I get called all sorts of things. By Christians. You don't see me throw a hissy fit everytime someone tells me I'm going to Hell, or that the only reason I'm not Christians is because I'm too stupid.

And I certainly don't hold all Christians responsible for the stupidity of a few. You classify us all as [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]ers or bashers.

I think the root of the problem here is shown. You don't just disagree with us. You think we are stupid, and our beliefs are stupid. Perhaps a little less contempt and a little more of that fabled 'open-mindedness' that I hear secular types professing is in order.

The idea that because something is legally allowed somehow forces you to accept what is legally allowed is a stupid idea, and anyone who agrees with it is an idiot.

I'm not bashing Christians, I'm bashing idiots. I know a lot of Christians that would agree with me on this.

I know. It seems like they are all putting a stumbling block in front of me. That is ok. Jesus will pick me right back up and dust me off.

If strip clubs cause you to stumble, that's your own spiritual weakness to worry about. It's no one else's problem but yours.

I don't think it's really forcing, it's just the way the person interprets it. Us as Christians are told to go out and preach the word of God to others. Tell them about Christ and what he has to offer for those who believe in him.

Some people just aren't interested in hearing anything, but that doesn't put someone in the wrong who's preaching the word of God. So if they don't want to hear it and they're told anyways, it's interpreted as forcing your beliefs on them.

Just a thought.

God Bless :)

Why do people keep talking about preaching, when many of us are complaining about legislation?

Wrong, haven't you read anything in this thread?

Because this is a discussion topic and people have different views on the topic.

It's your right to be wrong, but why in the hell wqould you want to be wrong?

Sir, Jesus loves you and so do I. I am sorry that I do not have a way online to prove it to you. Maybe someone will one day soon.
That will be awesome if it happens. :D

Well, to split hairs, one is a religious symbol and one is a symbol of evil.

But fortunately, the Consitution does not bar displays of religious nature in a public area, or else public museums could not put King Tut's coffin on display. Furthermore, Congress passed a motion for George Washington to declare Thanksgiving Day a day of prayer, and they even bought Bibles for the US, to encourage Christianity. So . . . I guess it's up to the people, eh?
Multiple quibbles.

Satanists don't see their religious iconography as evil in the same sense as Christians.

I agree that an upside-down cross is tacky because it is the perversion of someone else's symbol. They should pick something else. Don't define your religion by opposition to some other particular religion. That's tantamount to promoting hate.

King Tut's coffin is on display not because of religious reverence, but because it is a historical artifact. The separation of church and state doesn't apply to it.

Congress has done lots of stupid things. That's why we have three branches of government.

But you are wrong about that :) The inverted cross has been a very holy christian symbol for a long time. One of the Apostles (Peter, I believe) was crucified upside-down. Catholics, especially, have no problem with an inverted cross.

That might be a bad example then. :) But the general idea is still relevant.

You of course have proof that the catholics have no problem with it?

The satanist mass is a direct inverted copy of the catholic mass and the inverted cross (from a satanist perspective) is a sacrilegeous act that is meant to deny christ.
