I'm sorry, the placing of stop signs are not based on morality but on public safety. This, to me, further indicates that you don't understand the first thing about morality.

We as citizens of the state of California have voted in the governor and the rest of our law makers. We have voted and we have said as a community, that if you don't stop at this 'Stop' sign; we will have our police write you up for a traffic violation. You will pay with your $$$ because you broke the LAW!!! Our code of law and conduct state that you will STOP at the stop sign. If you don't we will FORCE OUR MORALITY UPON YOU and give you a fine.
You will conform to our rules of right conduct in our community or you will pay!!! HENCE, WE ARE FORCING OUR MORALITY ON YOU!!! YEA!
I am right, and I know exactly what I am talking about.
Forcing Morality: it's what's for communities.

Most mornings on my way to work I take a right on red (the light is always red lol) even though a sign says no right on red. I do this along with other motorists on their way to the rail. Surely we are an immoral bunch. And sometimes, some people don't stop at stop signs. They barrel right on through and nothing happens. So you don't always pay for not abiding by laws.

Well, Boston is traffic hell and based on my experience with MA drivers we're in need of a good traffic school.Does Hell have a traffic school?
Then you know all too well lolHey I'm in MA too. :-D
Then you too would be a murderer, sir.
Actually, I think that's what we call "justice" and "consequences". We execute the one to save the many... ooh.... maybe that's my next signature? Nah....
Do the wrong thing, expect the consequences, even if they take your life. That's Life in general.
Consequences are all well and good, but unless they also teach WHY one must not do a thing, all they do is provide deterents. Not a bad thing, but also not enough for real social reform.
Agreed.
The duty of the penal system is to protect the public, and perhaps also to allow reparation and reformation by those who have harmed others; it is not to hand out punishments.
