CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Emo people aren't all cutters, alot of them just like punk style hair and wearing black...it is a personal choice, we are suppose to mirror God in all areas of our lives. Self injury is not God like, we are to love ourselves and others. All of us are a little "emo" (emotional) I've seen it in all persons that I've been around for very long. When I was a teenager I wore elephant ear pants that were 36" wide at the bottom! People grow out of things as they get older when sound reasoning sets in. Better to love them as they are and just pray for the healing of their hearts if it's anything more than a way to dress (a fad or a stage).

Don't know how old you are now, but so much God's wisdom in this post. Sometimes, being older, you forget they have to "go" through things. But that is all the more reason to pray for these beautiful young kids. It is harder now and sooooo much out there, I pray just pray!!

who's son went through a stage of rock music, she hated hearing it in her home, she prayed about it and God told her it was just a stage and that it would pass...it did and all the posters came down and the music stopped. He now is a devoted Christian and a leader at his church.

We needed someone to get us oldies on the right track!!! None of us had even heard of the phase emo. We all thought she was saying elmo. So now that we know the "general" meaning of the word, this is why we are all saying we will praying for her. Now it looks as if someone else could use some prayer, or you could pray for her as you're the one who seems to know the real meaning of it,and how bad it is.
