I've been rediscovering old favorite genre and I must say folk /viking / pagan metal really hits the spot.

Hehe... I know, typo. But hey! It fits sometimes. I have met people who are more defined by their musical taste than anything else, including gender

I like the genre, although I'm not a fan of death/black metal vocals, which the majority of folk metal bands seem to use. But there are bands out there that use (mostly) clean which I like:

Skyclad
Cruachan (although they seem to be moving back to the black metal vocals)
Elvenking
Wuthering Heights
Tuatha de Danann
Korpiklaani
Falconer
Lunarium
Timeless Miracle
Alestorm
