The flying spaghetti monster never incarnate as a man, reveled God in his life, allowed himself to be killed so that he could resurrect a likeness of his former incarnate body for believers to witness. Then ascend into heaven with all power and authority in heaven and on earth.

Are you saying adding such claims would make the FSM more plausible?

I think it's more of an attempt to elevate the religious ideas rather than critique science.

You could use this line of thinking to justify any assertion though.

Science makes assumptions.
X is based on assumptions.
X is as valid as science.

Doesn't seem all that persuasive when you boil it down like that though.

Fire trucks are red
Apples are red
Therefore fire trucks taste just as good as apples?

Seems about like where this line of thinking is going, except substitute "generate knowledge" for taste.

Either my deity exists, or [argument form epistemological nihilism]. Amazing.

Or for an alternative approach :

Science is on questionable footing because it assumes an external reality we can learn about. Instead, consider my god - I know about it because of what I've read in a book and heard from other people. Ignore that reading books and talking to other people also assumes an external reality we can learn about, that's irrelevant here.

The noble idea of a great being, greater than ourselves, beyond space and time, contrasted with meatballs.

What is it that Christians use to take communion, again? Is the exact type of carb and alcohol a supernatural being is associated with a distinguishing factor between plausible and ridiculous?

Why can't a great being who is greater than ourselves and lives beyond space and time be made of meatballs?

The same reason Frankencell can't be beyond space and time yet atheist believes it even though it's beyond what proven possible by nature.
FSM fits the atheist worldview better than theist.

Whatever a "Frankencell" is...it has nothing to do with atheism.

Atheism depends on Frankencell unless you believe today's living cells just popped into existence. Frankencell is the science fiction first cell that only exist in the atheist mind.

You mean the first life form. Atheism predates evolution and abiogenesis theories

True but there was no need in the past since it was easier for them to believe life could come from something dead. Frankencell wasn't needed until man discovered how complex the most simple known life form were.

Do you have any idea how hard it can be to analyze fossils of that nature? We could literally have fossils of exceeding simplicity but would never be able to detect them as such. If such simple structures can really fossilize at all

Scientology was made up by a mediocre science fiction author who joked that he would get paid better if he invented a religion.

Yeah, that one ended way worse. Even though it is only slightly less ridiculous than Rastafarianism

There is probably no biologist on earth that thinks the first cell popped into existence, let alone any atheist community.

The first self replicating chemical life was probably no where near complex enough to form proper cells.

It's all a big grey area to me what should and should not be considered ridiculous and by what degree.

This guy is serious for instance:

Colter said:

Abraham was serious enough to kill over his interpretation of a God that wished goats needlessly killed to be appeased

For the reason you give below. That it "may or may not exist", and that's the limited extent of it. So you could use mermaids or space aliens.

The FSM may exist or may not exist. The analogy still works.

Why can't a great being who is greater than ourselves and lives beyond space and time be made of meatballs?

I addressed that in an earlier post, on page one I think.

I don't have to have any explanation for how "today's living cells" came into existence. I don't believe in god...that makes me an atheist. Your Frankencell doesn't have anything to do with atheism. Sorry.
