  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Am I gonna need one?

I've heard of doctors urging their pregnant patients to get one. I hope I don't have to. I don't feel comfortable injecting that into my body at any time (and especially NOT when pregnant).

Can I refuse it or do I have to get it? I mean... a flu isn't the end of the world and it's only certain strains of the flu virus IIRC... You get the flu, throw up for a few days then you are better. Is that really that big of a deal that I need a shot to protect me from it?

Never had one while pregnant (or ever). I certainly wouldn't inject anything into my body unless the pros far out weighed the cons. And I believe the flu shot is still one of the shots that contains mercury in it.

If I was you I wouldn't get it.

And just so you know you can refuse ANYTHING you want when it comes to any descision concerning you and your baby. They can't make you do anything or take any tests you don't want to.

Yes, the flu shot Does have mercury/Thimerasol in it. And No, it's not safe while pregnant no matter What doctors say. There have been NO studies done on the affects of the flu shot on a an unborn baby! It's grounds for malpractice, IMO.

Oh, and you can ALWAYS refuse to do all sorts of things. I refused the glucose tolerance test a few weeks ago (no point for me to do it). They can't "make" you take any shot or do any medical procedure if you don't want it.

I guess they think that it's better to get the shot than the actual flu itself. I had just never had a flu shot & really didn't want to risk getting sick from the shot. My body is sooo sensitive. But geesh if you read & read these books & online preggie women can't do ANYTHING but breathe if that! :)

I am not really for or against the flu shot but it should be known that the "FLU" is not a digestive tract illness it is a respiratory illness that is quite severe and the reason that the good ole docs want YOU to get it is so that if you are going to have a child under 1 yr old during the flu season is to protect you little one by "reducing" the probable exposure. just a little side note I wouldn't get the flu shot while pregnant either.
