Generally speaking, when a sentence starts with a pronoun it is directly connected with the one before and that's how Is 7:15 starts : "He shall be living..." Now who could "He" be? The Lord? (I doubt it.) "The virgin"? wrong pronoun. What about the name right before "He" ... Immanuel. That fits. The next verse also refers to "the child" which would also fit.It does really
By 15 the prophesy id over. For your information a prophesy does not need to cover whole books or chapters. Not at all. Sometimes in the middle of a verse it propels thousands of years into a different time.
I think everyone will physically stand before the judgement seat of Christ. Do you think God will put them back on mars afterwards? What would be the point then? Civilization will never become extinct after Judgement Day.I agree that the wicked will not be able to stay there if they do get there.
Forget generally speaking when it is God speaking. Remember that the prophesy was in the middle of a chapter. Earlier in the chapter God talked about Ahaz's son.Generally speaking, when a sentence starts with a pronoun it is directly connected with the one before and that's how Is 7:15 starts : "He shall be living..." Why would He put wicked people back up on a planet after He rules earth? Even if some were believers up there why would He send them to that desolate place again in a new body? We do not even know that Mars or the current universe will exist the same.I think everyone will physically stand before the judgement seat of Christ. Do you think God will put them back on mars afterwards?
Exactly. Mars can take a hike. What would be the point then? Civilization will never become extinct after Judgement Day.
This is pathetic. The "He" is a young child in verse 15 who is clearly "the child" in verse 16.Forget generally speaking when it is God speaking. Remember that the prophesy was in the middle of a chapter. Earlier in the chapter God talked about Ahaz's son.
Isaiah 7:3
Then said the Lord unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shearjashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller's field;
So whatever the context is before or after it, the prophesy is in the two verses in the middle of a chapter.
He is a part of more than you seem to think.
The people I had in mind though were bible writers.
If Jesus is in verse 15 explain how that fits? Do you think Jesus needed to learn how to choose good and refuse evil? Was He famous for eating butter and honey? It doesn't seem to fit the spirit of the prophesy to me. Maybe it fit Ahaz's kid? This is pathetic. The "He" is a young child in verse 15 who is clearly "the child" in verse 16.
(I will say, that my bible has a whole paragraph of apologetics on 7:14 in the foot notes. I've never seen a foot note that long before in it. It mentions obliquely the alternative proposed, but then dismisses it.)
No proof either way then. OK. Maybe don't claim He was not involved?Being atheist I don’t think it’s involved at all in anything.
OK, now we can sink our teeth into that one. What about those chicken littles? I don't think their quest is a noble one.The “they” I was speaking to in that post were people proposing making humanity a multi planetary species, you know the group your thread was supposed to be about.
I’m in favor of humanity being a multi planetary species in general. As for Elon, his plans are fantasy but he looks to have lost interest in playing with rockets now that toying with governments has his attention.OK, now we can sink our teeth into that one. It looks like a getaway for the rich so far. One that left space full of garbage around earth.I’m in favor of humanity being a multi planetary species in general.
He was still talking about it in March apparentlyAs for Elon, his plans are fantasy but he looks to have lost interest in playing with rockets now that toying with governments has his attention.
Back as a teen in 1968, I honestly and totally believed that by 2001 ordinary people like me would be able to afford at least a suborbital ride on Pan Am into space. I absolutely believed that. I believed that by 2001 there would be a torus space station with Hilton and Howard Johnson. I totally believed we'd have a permanent station on the moon. The technological direction will be so regular people can afford to go. But it will take a long time.

Oh that’s his new timeline? It’ll be thrown on the heap of old ones without comment after it gets closer. He was still talking about it in March apparently
Elon Musk says first SpaceX mission to Mars will launch next year
The billionaire says an unmanned mission by his SpaceX "Starship" vehicle will be followed by human landings as early as 2029.www.bbc.com
Space tourism has a price tag that is not for the common or poor manSo far it’s just an idea.
Imagine getting stranded on Mars with little supplies like they were stranded on the space stationAt the start any off world outpost would be populated with the same mix we have seen in orbit, those with the technical skills to keep the systems going and a few interested wealthy individuals.
Maybe he has more sense.Oh that’s his new timeline? It’ll be thrown on the heap of old ones without comment after it gets closer.
Also something I find interesting about Elmo, he hasn’t taken a ride to orbit, unlike the other billionaire astronaut wannabes.

Unlikely.Maybe he has more sense.
Why would I think verse 15 is about Jesus? (I don't think 13 or 14 are about him either.)If Jesus is in verse 15 explain how that fits?
A regular child would.Do you think Jesus needed to learn how to choose good and refuse evil?
It's "curds" not butter, and apparently it was a food for small children. Was He famous for eating butter and honey?
Sure it does if it is about ...It doesn't seem to fit the spirit of the prophesy to me.
Bingo. The whole thing from verse 13-16 is about a young woman at court having a child and something else happening why that child is still small.Maybe it fit Ahaz's kid?
In 200 years maybe, it just depends on how technology progresses in that timeframe.Back as a teen in 1968, I honestly and totally believed that by 2001 ordinary people like me would be able to afford at least a suborbital ride on Pan Am into space. I absolutely believed that. I believed that by 2001 there would be a torus space station with Hilton and Howard Johnson. I totally believed we'd have a permanent station on the moon.
And why not? It had taken only nine years to go from 50% launch failure rates...to the moon. Why not all those other things within another generation?
But here we are, fifty years later. We don't a moon base, we don't have a torus space station. We don't have Pan Am suborbital flights at economical prices. We don't even have Pan Am or Howard Johnson anymore.
I've got no confidence whatsoever that regular people will ever be able to afford tourist flights to Mars.
Technology progresses by as much money is put into it. We could have everything by now that 2001: A Space Odyssey predicted, if we had continued to pour as much money into space technology as we'd poured into it during the 1960s. But there isn't--and isn't likely to be--the will to pour that much money into it.In 200 years maybe, it just depends on how technology progresses in that timeframe.
The current way things are done, it will never happen. However, a lot of empires are on the brink of collapse. So new ones might just rise up and do things differently. 200 years is a long time. Not to God mind you, but long enough to get something done.Technology progresses by as much money is put into it. We could have everything by now that 2001: A Space Odyssey predicted, if we had continued to pour as much money into space technology as we'd poured into it during the 1960s. But there isn't--and isn't likely to be--the will to pour that much money into it.
My concern would not be how high a spaceship flies, but how it doesn't benefit mankind as a whole. Its also nothing but hops to low orbit and back, not establishing a permanent presence.
So I hear. The moon would be a much better first outpost. Shorter supply lines and a jumping off point to further travel that’s outside the Earths gravity well.
If you built those things would you fly up in space in them? Maybe he's waiting for them to be safe.Unlikely.
