I am reading a cool book. But it gets into all the scholastic and spiritual /mystical debates that went on before the reformation. All that about faith, logic ,creation, how to approach scripture. Seriously, we all need to study some history where all our debates were done in the past
.

Yes, it typically takes longer to fly west against the prevailing jet stream that is not caused by an allegedly rotating earth.

1) It's not just the jet stream.
2) And what causes the jet stream?

Now that question has a two-part answer. I'll give you half that answer: The Coriolis Effect. Now wanna take a stab in the dark as to what causes the Coriolis Effect?

Even by answering "jet stream" you are, in fact pointing to the earth's rotation. Without the earth's rotation, there'd be no jet stream.

On a stationary earth the time to travel east -> west and west -> would be the same, assuming no other variables, such as weather.

Hes right though. I know nobody but where I live (Alberta) the flat earth society of Canada is based in a very conservative religious place.
