Wait, Nimrod is a person,* not an insulting term for an idiot?

I'll bet you think a Nebuchadnezzar is just a very large wine bottle; or a Laodicean is someone who doesn't like to discuss religion or politics; or a Jeremiad is just a list of woes, don't you?

Taoist fiction is superior

At first you buy into it

A week later you’re like oh… fiction

I think AV was alluding to his time in the US Navy and what was probably an encounter with a typhoon while at sea. (To give you a fiction angle, I am reminded of the big action climax in "The Caine Mutiny" where the USS Caine barely survives a typhoon.)

Of course not. Nebuchadnezzar, is a well known king of Babylon (or rather several of them) with his name on buildings and tablets. Not sure why I'd associate it with wine. Never heard of a Laodicean, nor seen Jeremiad capitalized.

It was a very big boat.

The Amalekites, the elite desert fighting tribe, probably took everything that wasn't taken into the Promised Land.

Go park your car in a back alley in New York and leave your keys in it.

Come back tomorrow and see if you can it.

You're a true acadamian and a credit to the scholastic world today, in my opinion.

Near death experiencers have
If you can believe " flood" you can easily believe that
"near" means " after" and hallucinations are reality.

In a way it seems as if those interested in "ultimate
truth" and the basic nature of reality would not
flock to pseudoscience, hearsay, purveyors
of fakersy like AIG, intellectual dishonesty,
conspiracy theory, and just generally be so gullible
for whatever their itchin' ears want to hear.

There are few who are not like that, but very few.
Which nimrod and which empire are you talking about?
Must you ask

But life is fiction I would say
There may be more truth to that than most realize.
Our interpretation of events, our assumptions about other people and the world itself.
Our ascribing of motives and attitudes, etc.
