I've been watching some of the livestreams tonight from Antarctica. It looks amazing and the sun definitely appears to be there at midnight. A few of the livestreams that have been done (one in progress now):

And for those wanting the precise location of where they are, in that last livestream he showed the compass app from his phone which gave their GPS location -- 79° 44' 24" S, 82° 48' 21" W, with an elevation of 2280 feet.

You seem unfamiliar with Mark 9:38-40. On the basis of which we can assert that casting out demons was not what Christ our True God meant by “lawlessness.”

It's nice to hear their positive comments about Jeran, as I had the impression that he was a pretty genuine guy, but I find their silence about Witsit pretty telling. It seems like he is going to double down and try and come up with some non-globe explanation for the 24Hr sun in Antarctica. I predict a word salad.

Mark 9 is not addressing the same situation as Matthew 7, why try and make them. As in the account in Matthew These people were not believers (Jesus never knew them). In contrast The person in Mark is a believer and very well could have been one of 70 Jesus commissioned.

You’re missing the point. Christians, according to ecclesiastical order, may be granted permission by the church to perform exorcisms. At present the traditional liturgical churches limit this ministry to specially trained presbyters, but in the early church, when demonaics were much more common, exorcist was actually the most basic and entry level ministry in the Church, to the extent that it was just one notch above laity, with doorkeeper being a promotion for an exorcist (particularly since in areas where the church was persecuted, doorkeepers had the more important responsibility of keeping Pagan informants out of the church).

I would partially disagree on this. Firstly, the idea that believing a conspiracy theory like Flat Earth is evidence of demonic possession is not credible. Indeed most cases of suspected possession turn out to be mental or even physical illness (lead or mercury poisoning for example can produce erratic behavior). Possession tends to be characterized by specific fear of holy objects and blasphemous behavior and is not responsive to psychiatric treatment

While possession is increasing among some populations, it is not increasing among the Orthodox, and we have a small number of exorcists, who are presbyters, who in the very rare case someone has a demon as opposed to being mentally ill, who do their job quietly and effectively. Also whenever someone, whether an infant or an adult, is baptized into the Orthodox Church, the baptism contains a simple prayer of exorcism (likewise with many other traditional liturgical churches, the Roman Catholic church calls these “minor exorcisms.”)

Well when I was 14 I went to visit relatives in Oostersund, in Northern Sweden, and it was amazing. The sun never set; late in the evening there was twilight, and the evenings did get darker, but it was never dark ourside and you could not see the stars. In the winter the reverse happens and some people can’t handle it; one of my relatives was a psychiatric nurse and they had a room in the hospital with a sun lamp where people so afflicted would spend some hours each day.

I expect nowadays thanks to freedom of movement in the EU some people so afflicted perhaps move to more southerly climates.

By the way, compared to the Southwest US, the shortness of the day in London in the winter is shocking. I’ve never lived anywhere else where the sun sets so early. I am accustomed to the sun setting no earlier than 5 PM, or later with what you call Summer Time, and we call Daylight Savings Time. And up north, where you live, I would expect it sets even earlier. Although in the US, I can travel so far north as to reach places in Alaska which are like northern Norway.

Your experience reminds me of a winter I had while serving in Germany. For most of a winter I was going in to work at 8 (sun didn't come up until about 9) and the base shift ended at 5, and the sun would already have set. My only chance of seeing the sun (I worked in an areas with zero windows) was to try and get outside during lunch.

Of course, on the other side we would have light in the summer until almost midnight, with only 3 or 4 hours of darkness. It was odd, to me, that we'd hear kids playing outside after 11PM (but partly because I found a strict bedtime worked better with my children, regardless of it is dark or light outside).

It also made living in Houston odd to me, where sunset only changed by a couple of hours through the year, not by 7.

I've been thinking about this & if there is a 24 hour sun & moon in Antarctica then this proves that the sun and the moon & all the stars move within the firmament on a daily basis and that the earth does not turn & the fact that the sun and the moon give off their own light.
