So? Just because Luther said it, doesn't mean it's "gospel". Geocentrism was a common (incorrect) view in Luther's day.....
You have to admit, it is a remarkable thing to witness people with such utterly closed minds. Would you have believed such a thing was possible if you hadn't witnessed it here yourself?NVM. Big waste of time and effort.

Because God's Word isn't always literal. It covers a wide range of genres from the historic to poetic and symbolic. Why wont Christians believe God's literal word ? This is sad

Jesus often spoke in parables and Genesis 1 can be viewed as a parable of sorts, conveying to the culture and understanding of the time that God created everything.
If Genesis 1 had to be taken literally, I would have to reject it as false, since what I observe with the senses and intellect God gave me, does not line up with parts of the creation account. If I have to reject Genesis 1, then it calls into question the veracity of the other books of the Old Testament. Since the Old Testament prophecies lay the foundation for the advent of Christ, it would seem that you insist on undermining my faith in Christ.Genesis 1 is not a parable, in the beginning is a very important part of the Bible which should be taken literately.
Psalm 104:5
Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
Yes, And Copernicus' magnum opus on the movement of the spheres was not published (for fear) until shortly before his death in 1543. Luther died in 1546. Augustine makes a critical point that applies to the flat earth delusion. So? Just because Luther said it, doesn't mean it's "gospel". Geocentrism was a common (incorrect) view in Luther's day.....
Here is a faithful witness, one of many, a brother in Christ.
Listen, and then tell us if you Christian flat earthers will still slander him.
So you don't believe there is a great conspiracy inspired by Satan involving the governments of every nation to hide the 'fact' that the earth is flat with a solid dome in which the sun, moon and stars move about?I'm not in the habit of slandering anyone, each to his own.

Okay. Answers in Genesis, an organization founded on arguing for a literal interpretation of Genesis, says neither Genesis nor the rest of the Bible teaches a flat Earth:Genesis 1 is not a parable, in the beginning is a very important part of the Bible which should be taken literately.

Not if its author never meant it to be taken literally.Genesis 1 is not a parable, in the beginning is a very important part of the Bible which should be taken literately.
It also says the earth has 4 corners, Revelation 7:1, Revelation 20:8 - so is it a square or a rectangle?God shouldn't have too, but God knew what would happen so therefore God gives us passages in the bible to confirm that the earth is level and motionless & there are well over 200 in all.
It does not explain HOW God created and was never meant to.
Yes - but HOW?Genesis 1:7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
Genesis 1:16
Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also.
The Scriptures do not explain what is meant by the above nor do they explain the nature of the two great lights. That is all your personal interpretation.Genesis 1:7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
