Let's forget about my church. Show me how those scriptures were incomplete, incorrect and misapplied.
Very interested.
Another Scripture ignorantly blown out of context:
Titus 3:9,
But don’t have anything to do with
stupid arguments about ancestors. And stay away from disagreements and quarrels about the Law of Moses.
Such arguments are useless and senseless. (CEV)
Stay away from those who have
foolish arguments, who talk about useless family histories, or who make trouble and fight about what the Law of Moses teaches.
These things are useless and will not help anyone. (ERV)
Here's another:
2 Corinthians 10:5,
We demolish arguments and
every pretension that sets itself up
against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (NIV)
Hope that helped.
Since you insist, here is a just a tiny bit, specifically regarding the two scriptures above:
So I'll go with the versions you used here. Do you think that these principles apply only to ONE type of stupid argument? Only one form of quarrel? Should we tolerate most "stupid" arguments, just not these specific ones? Or perhaps, they have to do with ANY argument that does not bring God glory, or worse yet, steals glory from God as biblical shape of the Earth arguments always do. So the Titus 3:9 would be just as accurate to read:
But don’t have anything to do with stupid arguments about [the shape of the Earth]. And stay away from disagreements and quarrels about the [the shape of the Earth]. Such arguments are useless and senseless. (CEV)
In fact notice the last line of the 2nd version (ERV) you posted ends.
“These things are useless and will not help anyone”. Recall the multiple times I asked you: "how are you were helping anyone with all of this???"
Now, I noticed you conveniently left out the following 2 verses:
10 Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition, 11 knowing that such a person is warped and sinning, being self-condemned.
Reject in the Greek here = advert by entreaty (earnest or humble request or petition), in other words, even when we reject someone who has behaved like this… you still do it nicely.
Divisive here means one who causes divisions, factious (like factions or clicks… perhaps like flat earth society type of clicks… yeah, yeah I know you are not a flat earther), or false doctrine (like perhaps what I and others have been asserting that the Bible does NOT talk about the shape of the Earth at all)
Admonition = an authorities counsel or warning. Part of what gives someone authority to give such a warning (as mentioned previously in Titus) is their fruit, hence my repeated requests for you to demonstrate your fruit and your ministry, which you repeatedly ignore.
2 Cor 10:5
casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ
arguments = reasoning hostile to the Christian faith
exalts itself = to be lifted up with pride
knowledge of God = general Christian knowledge, things lawful and unlawful for Christians and moral wisdom such as seen in right living
So, with this understanding 2 Cor 10:5 is saying:
we should cast down any prideful reasoning that is hostile to the Christian faith and goes against our basic understanding of Christianity and argues in a way that goes against the way we should act as Christians.
It is been my contention over and over again that trying to force the Bible to make a stance on the shape of the Earth (no matter the shape) steals glory from God, diminishes the power of the cross and the person of the Holy Spirit. Couple that with your behavior here - prideful and demeaning of others -and Titus 3 and 2 Cor 10:5 are clearly saying we should reject and cast down every argument
you are making.
So how are you misguided? Those scriptures you just quoted are not supporting you, they are rebuking you, yet you cannot see it.
Now let’s see how eagerly that is received.
