How are men saved?
There aren't.And if only the predestined sheep are called, why are there other sheep at all?
That's what Calvinism teaches.By the love and grace of a merciful God.
And if only the predestined sheep are called, why are there other sheep at all?
By the love and grace of a merciful God.
Through faith, and faith comes from hearing. . . So, tell me how your statement below holds water.
But even if that is too vague, it could be argued that those born into non-Christian cultures and environments at least have a chance to hear and accept the word and be saved. And even if we Christians fail to reach them, they are not automatically condemned from conception.
This makes no sense.Firstly, God has commanded it. Secondly, the proclamation of the gospel is the *means* which God has chosen to gather in His sheep.
How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? (Romans 10:14)
““I am the good shepherd. I know My own sheep, and they know Me, as the Father knows Me, and I know the Father. I lay down My life for the sheep. But I have other sheep that are not of this fold; I must bring [gather] them also, and they will listen to My voice. Then there will be one flock, one shepherd.”This makes no sense.
God says that the gospel is spreading salvation to all people not gathering. Calvinism is gathering
Well tell me this. Are there some predestined for salvation from birth and some who are not from birth in Calvanism doctrine? Just a simple yes or no will suffice. (Mind you I am still playing devil's advocate here.)
That is after salvation, Jesus is calling them His sheep.““I am the good shepherd. I know My own sheep, and they know Me, as the Father knows Me, and I know the Father. I lay down My life for the sheep. But I have other sheep that are not of this fold; I must bring [gather] them also, and they will listen to My voice. Then there will be one flock, one shepherd.”
John 10:14-16
Nobody becomes a sheep. That is after salvation, Jesus is calling them His sheep.
The conversation was about the gospel which is before one is saved, before becoming a sheep.
The other half of the verse is talking about the two separate sheep pens (ie.. Jew and Gentile)and bringing them under one shepherd, Jesus Christ.
So how does this relate to spreading the gospel?
Christians are not predestined for salvation from birth. They are predestined from before the creation of the world.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5heb predestined us for adoption to sonshipc through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, 9hed made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.
Yes we do.Nobody becomes a sheep.
Nobody becomes a sheep. There's nowhere in scripture where that's supported. There are some sheep, however, that Jesus still needs to bring into the fold. He doesn't say there are goats that need transforming.Yes we do.
Everyone is an enemy of God before they are saved.
How do you figure in your Calvinistic theology even that no one becomes a sheep. Are you saying that some are without sin and not an enemy of God?
Please explain how you were born a sheep and did not become a sheep after salvation. Please include relevant Bible verses.
Because God's Word says that all mankind is initially at eminity with God.
Well show me the verses then.Nobody becomes a sheep. There's nowhere in scripture where that's supported. There are some sheep, however, that Jesus still needs to bring into the fold. He doesn't say there are goats that need transforming.
What are you taking about? He doesn't call goats sheep, or vice versa.Well show me the verses then.
Because if God calls goats, sheep then that is a big problem.
““I am the good shepherd. I know My own sheep, and they know Me, as the Father knows Me, and I know the Father. I lay down My life for the sheep. But I have other sheep that are not of this fold; I must bring [gather] them also, and they will listen to My voice. Then there will be one flock, one shepherd.”
John 10:14-16
Romans 8:28-30Using the Bible, how do you know Him, Hammster?
Nobody becomes a sheep. There's nowhere in scripture where that's supported. There are some sheep, however, that Jesus still needs to bring into the fold. He doesn't say there are goats that need transforming.
That working depend on what verses you are using and the context.Hammster, are children of wrath, sheep or goats?
Are those dead in trespasses and sin, sheep or goats?
Those who live in the lusts of the flesh, sheep or goats?
Children of wrath, sheep or goats?
