As I see it, it has inspired some sublime art and literature (and some execrable art & literature). This is an example of the power of the deep emotional commitments it can produce. But, of course spirituality isn't the only source of deep emotional commitment, and it doesn't necessarily mean that the focus of spirituality is rational, reasonable, right, or true.

Nothing about the title or the atmosphere set up by it has anything to do with evolution, but the differences between what one person considers progress and what another does not.
You can not progress into something that doesn't have value to you.

Assuming moral or factual superiority from the word "go" is pretty counterproductive, too.

Attempting to be a Christian pyschic is another good way to go wrong: declaring that you know my mind, thoughts and motivations, and then demonstrating an absolute failure in that respect, missing by a country mile, most often.
A declared knowledge and competence immediately followed by an emphatic display of its absence really does drop any evangelical's credibility rating.

The greatest of ironies exist among Atheists and scientists, who campaign for evolution, but cannot even conceive evolving themselves or ascending to anything higher than their best organic self.Nonetheless, they end up here, here at the edge of their physical world gazing shoreward, not knowing there is more than a world above their own, but also waters above and beyond. These are fish out of water, and their instinct is to wiggle and fight and return to the sea...and why wouldn't they? Just a few generations are required. Stickleback fish in Alaska evolved from living in seawater to freshwater in just 50 years.

I have heard the opposition say that feelings, or emotions, doesn't prove Gods power. They say emotions are not exclusive to Christians only, and are not evidence of Gods power.

There is however a difference between regular emotions and Gods power. Gods power is love, and it leaves you strengthened in such a way that you will know its power. You will not be able to deny it. We call it faith. IT can be like a taste of heaven itself. You have no idea what it feels like. Its not just some random emotion, i can assure you. Faith picked me off the floor of despair. It picked me up from a pool of depression, hate, anger, bitterness, and utter misery. I felt God love and it strengthened me in a very profound way. Show me a scientist, doctor or politician that can do that. They cant.

You say that emotions are not evidence. You however cannot measure the power or substance of love, so how can you possibly exclude it? God is holy, and he will not allow man to put him under a microscope. We must know our place in life, and God will surely have the last word.
