  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

*deep breath*

Tonight I start my new job alone with a developmentally disabled client. I'll be with her in her home until tomorrow night at 10p. She's in a wheelchair and I have to use a lift to care for her. Then, Sun. morning I have to get her in the van and take her to meet her mom for church in a town just up the road.

I'm very nervous to say the least. Mind you, I've never worked with developmentally disabled people before until I started training for this new position. Please, lift me in prayer.

:prayer:

I have worked with severely disabled people as a speech/language pathologist, just about every level of disability you can imagine. I started out, like you, not really feeling I knew what to do. But it wasn't really that hard after all. You will know what to do! It will be obvious. You will do fine as you want to do fine. Praying for Messiah's holy angels to help and guide you.
