CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

haha - I finally got my hands on the episodes, I've been trying for forever...and I'm so in love I can't even begin. Sadly I saw Serenity before I started watching Firefly, but I'll watch it again once I'm done.

Our Mrs. Reynolds was a hilarious episode! I cannpt believe this series was cancelled before a single season was completed.
I'm glad the movie was made. It wrapped up a few things... but left some questions unanswered (especially Shepherd's backstory, like how he was given favor on an Alliance spacecraft when he was shot?)

I think we're meant to think he was some sort of special ops guy working for the Alliance at one point. If you watch carefully in the pilot, he's the one who disarms the guy following Simon and River. He's quite deft about it, too.

I saw in the movie Magazine {Yes - I was dorky enough and had to buy it - according to my wife who LOVES the show as well} There was supposed to be some books {not the shepherd} from some of the writers or something, however I have not seen a thing... UGH - the verse was SO rich with so much that it was such a missed opportunity... Shiny

I just watched the entire Firefly series after seeing Serenity a couple times. It's such a shame they canceled the show, a second season would be awesome.
I did hear they're working a Firefly-based MMORPG, though Whether or not that will actually come to fruition, I don't know, but it sure would be neat.
Before I had seen the TV shows, Serenity in my opinion was just another okay Sci-Fi film. But after I saw Firefly, Serenity seemed a whole lot better!
Firefly/Serenity is definitely one of my favorites, up high on my list with Star Wars and Back to the Future

latest news is that Nathan Fillion (Captain Mal) has a role in a new Tim Minear TV series called Drive which is due to start in March ( I think) this is hot off the press news!

The series will not come back, and there will be no sequel to the movie, but it is officially being made into an MMORPG, a book and dice RPG already exists, so Firefly will live on.

i agree, it is pretty much near impossible for the series to come back, and a second movie was only going to be made if the first one was considered a sucess at the box office - which unfortuantely, it wasn't.
Shame, cause more people are being added to the ranks of browncoats every day!
