Have you ever heard of criminals (mostly young black men) using a 'robbery' as an excuse to shoot someone. Happens all the time. Also Jacksonville, Fl has a major crime problem. That's why this guy was armed. He walked in on the robbery and was told by the clerk what was happening. I'm guessing (got that JGG?) that he said to himself, "I'm not going to die today."

I take it you don't know who Dee Snider or Twisted Sister is, and by extension, their music. Sad, really. That era in the 80's was awesome, hair bands and all.

Nah, I'm still listening to the oldies; less 'attitude' in it. It takes me back to the good ole days of me 'yewt'. Didn't get much into the drug induced screaming that passed for music after that ( although some of it was pretty good). At that time I was pretty heavy into bluegrass (did a little banjo pickin'). I really enjoy Irish music as well. (Why am I telling you this???)

Cool! I'm also a long-time guitar strummer (not picker) and have dabbled in upright bass (fun but hard to pack up under yer arm).

Now that you mention it: Banjo is the perfect deterrent, not only against robbers.

Why is it, when we look at the pictures you are trying to project on Oldwiseguy, they are all pictures of nations or governments that BANNED Civilian Gun Ownership? That is just weird. Seems like if you were trying to make that point you'd need to show a picture of . . . Herbert Hoover capping a political dissident or Martin Luther King correcting a crowd of Klansmen with an AK47. I "get" that all the pitctures show politically motivated executions but. . . what does that have to do with some guy stopping at the local gas and go and stopping a robbery because he exercised his civil rights?
